Maybe not this time.

I'm not saying he hasn't dived before, most players have. But not today. That was undeserved and a bit presumptuous from the ref.

With someone like Ramires I wouldn't be surprised if he just tackled himself

It happens, if he had appealed for a full I could understand it but he never did. Players can and will fall over

Wasn't Marriner the Ref who gave the last seconds penalty against West Brom? He probably was remembering the outcry of that game when he gave him a card.

Refs just guess.
We know this

The replays I saw screamed dive. He goes past 1 player sees a foot and tries to nip it, totally misses but was already going to ground. I hate seeing this from our players after giving Pool and United fans so much stick about it.

Players fall over, if they don't appeal they aren't influencing the ref. When players are off balance contact our no contact they go down it is a law.

Summer...........

it was the same ref and the same player, it must have influenced decision, you would be a feckin android for it not to

Behave saw it in the pub it was horrendous I just hope to God the fa bring in 3 game suspensions retrospectively for such incidents where the replay is conclusive of zero contact.

I don't accept this not appealing for a foul bull. It gives license for players to dive not appeal and give the ref the pressure while falling back on an excuse.

If you dive you dive end of story. 3 game ban will only help to prevent it I would also take it a step further by ensuring the club cannot pay the player during the ban.

He dived. Don't excuse the inexcusable.

So what if he didn't appeal - would he have refused the penalty if the ref had given it bexause 'he didn't appeal'

So are you suggesting that a player of balance and under the influence of gravity stays on his feet? If so how?

The refs have tough jobs and will make mistakes when a player appeals in such a situation they are clearly seeking an undeserved advantage and should be punished however players will fall over, do fall over without it being a foul either in the process of taking of dribbling, it is not difficult. Who hadn't ever list balance and fallen over when pushong it?

We are getting to a stage where people say it is either a foul or a dive. Frankly, anyone who has played the game for a few years copetitively knows there is a third way where you go to ground because of contact when moving at speed..........

The idiots that claim otherwise just prove they have not played the game.....

ps...........despite this view I think Ramires dived today

Tell Torres to hit the net instead of the shed

I agree Biggish, I thought Ramires dived also. The view from behind the incident which is similar to the view the ref must have had does not look good.
