We could still be in for Wells but Huddersfield have had a bid accepted. Would you be happy with signing Wells LIW?

Wells would be a great signing but bm said he wants players with experience in this division

Wells to Hudds is pretty much a done deal, a deal which I think is worth the price they look to be paying. Like I always harp on about, Hudds have money and an ambitious board who take calculated risks. I'd rather see him at Hudds than any other team in the league. Keep talent in the county and all that.

That being said, who knows what 11th hour revelations could happen as BMAC is clearly looking for a striker and IMO he can either get 2 more players in or 1 marquee name...decision time methinks.

Let's hope it happens then. I can't think of anyone we could realistically get who I'd prefer ahead of Wells.

Rate Wells but I don't see the hype with him.

Fit in with Bradford's fairytale and everyone's jumping on the bandwagon with him.

I think he'd be able to play at this level though.

Doesn't look as good as Beckford did in the lower leagues.

Mike

Huddersfield spend far less than leeds on players

Ings will be leaving then I reckon, would be a good signing, only 21. other strikers id like us to go for;

Baldock - Bristol C
Guidetti - Man C - (loan)

Possibly Ross might be playing on his own in the middle with the wingers either side and Smith as plan B?

I'm shocked Wells is heading to Huddersfield!

Leigh Griffiths from Wolves

He's had half a season in L1, no guarantee he'll step up and do well in the champ. It's a calculated risk, but one I'd like us to have taken.

A hard thing for a Leeds fans to say that Champers, cos i wouldn't be saying that if it was the other way around. Won't believe it until he is in the famous blue and white stripes next to Robins !!

surely if we wanted Barnes he would of at least come and spoke to us.

Cant of bid for him, bet he was too expensive for someone on a free in 6 months.

Shaun if he goes for Sam Baldock i will be devestated.

... You'd like to think so.

Its always a calculated gamble on lower league strikers, some are prolific at lower levels and struggle when moved up, others still bang them in. Lots of reasons obviously. Take Barnes for example... 1 in 2 in league 1, 1 in 4 in the championship.

Bookies stopped taking money on Wells. looks almost 100% certain now.

Vaughan and Wells will be some strikeforce if they click.

Someone good and Mcormack will be a fantastic strikeforce if we cough up. Break the bank for Danny Ings. Just do it. Screw the implications haha.

Cant wait for tomorrow, so excited to see someone on either side of the pitch pick the ball up and run at someone!

posted on 10/1/14

Ings and Mcormack would be fantastic for you, but why would Burnley sell him ?????? They have more of a chance of going up if they keep him.

If Ashley Barnes ends up at Burnley (and i believe he now has) then good luck to the lad - just not against us.

But am i missing something?

i've checked his stats - are their goals missing from the tables i'm viewing (on wikipedia/bbc i admit)?

Averages about 10 goals a season, not bad but not the sort of stuff to make me devastated we've not signed him.

Wells i'd be happier with, but he's not proven at this level - althrough from what i've seen he does look a real talent (and i've watched live at matches a few times now).

I think we'll end up with someone know one thought about - lmao Kevin Phillips !

posted on 10/1/14

You can't sign Phillips, he's been coming to us for over 4 years now

Wells deal "close"...unconfirmed reports of a medical taking place now.....arrrggghhh! Just get the fackin deal done. It's like waiting for your eBay bid to get gazumped

posted on 10/1/14

You have to take into account the work Barnes does for the team and his link up play etc, hes not prolific but Blackstock wasn't for us, its no co-incidence things have gone totally backwards since we lost him, goalscorers i.e. mcormack need a foil to be prolific.

posted on 10/1/14

They won't sell Ings surely. especially not to any championship side. few million might change their minds but can't see us spending that on 2-3 players yet alone one.
