i hope the spanish WORM never wins another Trophy in his life, and i hope Barca turn out like us Hapless, but im sure Cesc can always jump ship to Madrid then

Hello My Name Is Vermaelen

I think that is the overall value. €29M in installments, €5M from Cesc (€1M a year for 5 years), €6M add ons if Barca win 2 La Ligas and 1 CL within the next 5 years. So that totals to €40M, not sure how much that is in pounds.

Jadson is the man who must come in next, from everything I heard it seems he will be. It is important for the fans we bring in a seeming replacement for cesc quickly.

I really hope we get Marvin Martin, he really is Marvellous Martin.

marvin martin should be a target. from what i've seen he's a better, more creative player than jadson.

You are probably right batmanu, if that is the case the total is basically £35m.

Martin would be an excellent signing in my opinion.

Batmanu - I have no trouble with him wanting to go and can understand. If we would've won something last year we would've had better leverage. But don't tell me that he wasn't talking to the Barca management on this, they knew he wanted to go and wasn't going to budge on the price. Also, his Barca mates constantly saying stuff in the press.

Very disrespectful to us!!! Not once did he publicly tell them to stop!

Why are they paying instalments if they win or not. This is not a rental. They need to pay us the rest of the money win or not.

Well he wanted to go, so why would he publicly tell them to stop?

He does still have an affinity for Arsenal, and wouldn't want the fans to view him as we do Nasri, so he didn't come out and say he wanted to leave in case the move collapsed, and we wouldn't be so annoyed if he was still our player.

i bet Cesc is on the plane now thinking to himself how he's glad to be away form us and our struggling team, and i bet he's told Nasri aswell to get out now and join City,I HATE THE PAIR OF THEM

Why would he tell them to stop? Those comments were very disrespectful and unsettling for the club that he allegedly loved. I really don't see why he would stop either.

I have no doubt about that but he had 3 years left on his contract yet we have left him go for an embarrassing price. That is nobody's fault but our own. We owned him, he was ours for 3 years. We were in complete control of the situation yet as we so often do these days, we bottled it. I've been saying all Summer we should not even have negotiated with Barca. If Cesc wants to join them wait 3 years and he can leave on a free.

But he loves Barca as well. He wouldn't want to put his move there in jeopardy.

Batman

You are sure you can look me in the eye and tell me that Cesc in no way put us in a bad negotiating position?

I cant believe you believed what you have written here. Its obvious that he sold his house long ago, give every Arsenal player a gift (Andre told so) at the end of the last season, refuse to play for us again. Do you really believe he didnt plan that?

With the money that we're getting from Barcelona, minus the money we're about to spend on Jadson, we probably won't have enough left over from Cesc's transfer to afford Marvin or Gotze or whoever we want to dream about, without eating into whatever we get from City for Nasri.

Happy days then.

That's not the point. What I am saying is we should never have been willing to negotiate in the first place. Cesc has a contract we could have made him honour! Also I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to look you in they eye

Of course he did, he wanted to leave, I'm not denying that in any way.

What I am saying, is that his actions were actually understandable (from his warped perspective), and he didn't want to jeopardise his move to Barcelona by publicly refuting allegations emanating from his favourite club, and distancing himself from the actions of Barca.

Equally, he didn't want to publicly state his desire to leave, as it would unite every Arsenal fan in hate against him, and should the move fall through, make the next twelve months of his life very difficult.
