Pretty insignificant amount for a club like utd.

Not when we have to pay extortionate interest payments.

Good luck this afternoon

Point 2

I love how you guys don't understand how ironic all this is.

When did we start paying for players in millimetres?

For point 2:

Decisions against us will be remembered more now simply because we don't go on to win. That was the problem before because as a team we never moped around or broke into tiny pieces because of 1 bad decision.

Manchester City will eventually be the new team everyone claims decisions go for and not against them.

Also Mourinho hasn't lost a tonne of home games in between. In the league since leaving Chelsea he's lost at home 3 times, and that was at Madrid.

Since he took over at Porto he's lost something like 4 home league games. That's incredible and a record that is relevant as it has a psychological effect.

The home record thing is something I associate with his last run at the club.

They lost at home to Basle this season and had to commit the most shocking of dives in the last second of the game to get a draw against West Brom as well.

If the rumours are true and Rooney and RvP are playing today I fancy us to win there.

Now that would be funny.

The home thing is something I associate with Jose Mourinho.

I don't think any manager in the world has as good a home record as he has in the league in the last 12 years.

In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find any manager ever to have as good a home league record as that over such a time period.

wouldnt it be funny if after all the times Fergie went there with good teams and lost, Moyes goes with this squad and wins. A win today could cause a turn around in out fortunes , massive game. I honestly dont think Chelsea are all that good either and we are better than our results.

Of course it's a good record but it's been helped by his first Spell at Chelsea being at a club who had spent a tonne as well as being at Real Madrid for a lot of that as well.

You wouldn't expect to lose that many home games if you managed those teams !

Jose is a very good manager but I don't think teams care about the home record when they go to Stamford Bridge. Just look at West Brom and Palace this season. Went there and attacked.

United are currently as far out as 5/1 to win this afternoon (Stan James if you fancy it) which is pretty nuts really. You won't see many defending champions across Europe at those odds this season.

I really think this is one that could go either way too.

1) Moyes has an awful record against the 'big clubs' and it is a talking point and adds to the match build up when it is highlighted.

2) A United fan complaining about decisions against them, really? I think even the most ardent United fan would find this ironic.

3) See number 2.

4) Players are valued in millions (m) not millimetres (mm). 'you spent a load of money on a flop, the critiscm here would be aimed at any team had they spent a lot on a flop see Chelsea and Torres or Liverpool and Carrol for good examples.

5) Correct.

6) Your point?

7) The media cream over Mourinho's home record with Chelsea, not Chelsea's home record or Mourinho's home record. And they have every right o, it is an incredible record. So what is the problem?

8) It seems your team is not at the top of the league and dominating for the first time since you have been born and you don' think its fair so you want to blame Suarez, the media, referees and pundits, it seems you want to blame everybody apart from the people that's job it is to put you top of the league.

9) Grow up

posted on 19/1/14

And neither team won. Of course teams think about that.

You do not go that many games unbeaten if it doesn't have a psychological effect, no matter how good the team is that you manage.

People have spoken about the fear factor at United going, there's a fear factor for teams going away to Mourinho's men, many teams are beaten before they step on the pitch because the know they you invariably get anything away to a team managed by Mourinho.

Would be facking funny if we won without RVP and Rooney, though.

Not a bad article, delete the Moyes bit and the Fellaini one as they are trash

posted on 19/1/14

It's weird. Even with our poor season and probably no Rooney and RvP, people don't seem to be that scared today.

Hafi would be surprised if we won by anything less than 5 goals.

posted on 19/1/14

What are you on about? I don't think there are many, if any, that are expecting anything from this game.

posted on 19/1/14

No, I mean today there is a lot of people on here today thinking we might get something from the game even though common sense says that it's unlikely

posted on 19/1/14

Is there?

posted on 19/1/14

I've seen a few comments today where people seem more confident than they should be.

Maybe the rumour of Rooney and RvP playing is getting some hopes up.

I accept that as a real possibility

"2) A United fan complaining about decisions against them, really? I think even the most ardent United fan would find this ironic."

Why? Did you know that United have the 4th best ratio for minutes to penalties in premier league hustory? Bare in mind that United have spent more time on the front foot in the opponent's final third than any other time. So you would expect United (all things being equal) to attain the most penalties. But we're 4th, behind Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle.

So, why would it be ironic to claim we aren't getting the rub of the green? Oh, I know why. Because it's a laxy cliche used by people who don't watch football or can't form their own opinions.

i have a feeling we will win today and i'm not afraid to say it here. We are United! come on. Champions die hard.

posted on 19/1/14

i never watch a United game thinking we cant win, what sort of attitude is that. Humble pie could be on the menu for a lot of people tonight if the result goes our way.

posted on 19/1/14

Of course we can win, but expecting to win is a bit different.

Some people accept our limitations, I don't see why that's such a bad attitude to have.
