I don't understand why Utd would want Mata right now anyway. I think they need to strengthen in other areas. They should've went for Matic if anything. Unless Moyes doesn't rate Kagawa but it's a big risk for someone who's currently a squad player.

Even if the theory is that Mata would help take points off Chelsea's rivals this season, I honestly can't see them selling to another PL club. We wouldn't let Rooney go to Chelsea, don't really see Chelsea being generous.

If we got him, and he helped resurrect our season enough to finish top 4, surely that would strengthen us in terms of next season. If we don't get him, and finish out of the top 4, we will be in a weaker position going forward.
