Mata will score the winner v arsenal 2014

That's exactly how mourinho operates

The way we're playing, it's going to take more than Mata to take points off anyone, let alone your rivals.

Doubt it has got to do with that. Mata's not needed at Chelsea and plus the money is probably is probably going to be used for a elite striker in the summer and they can comply with FFP.

United finally have their midget, technical, low centre of gravity, spaniard type of player

Let's see how this pans out. I'm more interested in how Mata is genuinely not first choice at Chelsea, and I think most Chelsea fans don't complain about this?

He's not in the same class as Cazorla/Silva IMO.

One of Rooney or RVP are off in the Summer. Maybe even sooner.

RGK it has a little bit to do with that... And also as you state FFP.

Man Utd are desperate at the moment, and the only team right now who would shell out £40m for Mata.

As Chelsea made a loss of nearly £50m, they have to show reduced losses each year now. The £40m will help them do that.

Mourinho is a snidey operator, that finger in the eye of an opposing coach is all you need to know about him.

We should offer 25m for Rooney now. Test mid table Man Utd resolve

No player will save United with Moyes in charge.

I don't actually think it's Mourinho's choice. Chelsea have a technical director called Michael Emenalo who has a large say in the ins and outs, in terms of transfers, at the club.

Mourinho has stated several times he wants Mata to stay and he knows the fans would be livid if he sold a huge fan favourite and a player who was the club's player of the season two years running, to Manchester United.

I think if Mourinho had it his way, he would keep Mata as a squad player. But if Mata was 100% focused on moving, he would have been sold to a club abroad rather than a club competing in the same division.

Either way, it is incredibly short-term thinking by Chelsea. Unsurprisingly.

I love how United fans are laughing at such statements.

Mata's turned into quite a bench player. You don't even know whether you're buying a fully function player or a broken midget Spaniard.

Even at his best, he's not as good as Cazorla or Silva, let alone Ozil.

Chelsea's decision to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United is part of a plan to land Everton's 20-year-old midfielder Ross Barkley.

Dubbed, whether he's as good as those players or not, he always seems to give us a dicking every time he plays against us and him, alongside Rooney and van Persie, who have also given us díckings in recent games against us, doesn't bode well for us. I can't say I'm overly confident ahead of their visit to The Emirates.

''Chelsea's decision to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United is part of a plan to land Everton's 20-year-old midfielder Ross Barkley.''

I know it's The Telegraph, but they have come out with some nonsense at times and I don't believe that for a second. Selling Juan Mata for Ross Barkley? Would make no sense at all. None whatsoever.

If Barkley is the player than replaces Mata, then the fans at Chelsea need to start seriously questioning the judgement of their board.

If Man Utd play with Mata, RVP and Rooney they will be wide open to get ripped apart by our midfield

Mata is a fantastic footballer who would find success in the right environment. And at his best, he's as good as any playmaker in the country. The guy had 20 goals and 30 facking assists last season.

the way City were wide open when they played Silva, Negredo and Aguero against us?
