Pretty much spot on. This entire season has been a shambles from July onwards.
At least were getting Mata!
S.E.
They had a lot of possession, but can you honestly say they did anything useful or threatening with it?
They had a lot of the ball because their 3 midfielders were up against a pedestrian Carrick and Darren Fletcher.
We created the better opportunities and were let down today by poor finishing in normal time and the penalty shoot out.
Sunderland fully deserved their chance in the final.
Sorry Moyes but throwing money at this problem isn't going to convince me just yet.
Meh misfortune cost us most of all, Carrick limping off injured and then a howler from our most consistent performer. They had 1 shot on target, if we had half competent forwards the game would have been long over before that happened.
I resigned to us coming 5th or lower about 2 defeats ago.
Even if we started playing well from here, I don't think we will catch up enough.
op what was the reaction of the fans after the game ?
They did lots of threatening things. They must have won about 20 corners. I lost count. They had most possession in both games too.
Best team over two legs went through. No excuses from me.
At least we saved ourselves an embarrassing day at Wembley.
Lets just wait until we have rvp and rooney back.
Top 4 under Moyes? Don't hold yer breath boys. It aint going to happen.

this has been apparent for a while.
Our problem is not to drop in the bottom half where 10 clubs are divide by about 5 points. Cos we cant buy a win v anybody atm.

he is inept. I am afraid placing your faith and resources in the wrong man does not suddenly make him the right man.

Stunned silence. People were too gutted to boo.
But coming off and walking to the park was a very different story. Safe to say he's losing the crowd now. Very angry reactions near me in the car park. 1 scuffle between two reds as well.
we have just had a footballing lesson from sunderland. That is the reality of it.
Se85 - Agree 100%. The better team went through. They dominated us, had more energy and ok they didn't create much. It's more and more like the 80s.....!
@SE we defended their corners well. I wonder what the reaction would have been if De Gea had collected that easy save. I reckon it would have been written up as a comfortable win. They huffed a lot but never looked like
scoring.
Fighting with each other. What a couple of idiots.
However I do agree, if these performances carry on the support will turn. I am still supporting but slowly over time losing more and more patience. It's not the results it's the tactics, passion and performances that are really winding me up
t's more and more like the 80s.....!

The media may have wrote it up as a comfortable win but watching the game we all know how much we struggled.

do we really need Rooney and RVP to beat this sunderland team at home?
My work colleague placed stupid money on utd winning the tie in 90 mins. So I was paying particular attention to the negative style of football we adopted after the first half
Coc gone
FA cup gone
League gone
Million to one chance in the CL
sad thing is it's still only January, we all knew transition would be disruptive, new manager, ageing players etc etc, but it's the performances completely bereft of any style or tempo what i'm struggling with.
Just when you think the worst is over....
Actually the worse is still to come, around March at the theatre of dreams.
Agree we saved ourselves an embarrassment.
I could of happily accepted losing on penalties, it happens. It was the quality of the penalties. Jones' and Welbeck's were struck horribly. 1 out of 5 penalties just shows how technically inept we are at the moment. Finishing BADLY let us down today.
Hernandez was woeful today and very nearly missed the goal he scored. Sunderland were dumbstruck after that and we should of took the initiative in the shoot out.
Changing the subject, always liked Poyet and it looks like he's doing a good job.
