Gascoigne/Di Canio/Anelka

The subject of what anelka did and why has received a great deal of publicity and rightly so. The FA will decide his fate in the next few days and so it will be.

But whilst anelka tries to wriggle out of his idiocy lets just remember why he claimed he made the remark.

He claims its not anti semetic but in fact anti establishment, this from a man earning probably 50 or 60k a week and driving around in a Ferrari. What exactly does he dislike about the establishment?

He has also claimed that he did it in support of his mate that French comedian, who also claims its an anti establishment gesture despite his anti semetic references and his invite to a well known Holocause denier to join him on stage.

In todays Standard there is an article to do with this and also Lukaku he recently has come out in defence of anelka.

Here is the link and an extract:

"We learned that even the French Government had condemned Anelka’s friend, the alleged comedian Dieudonne M’Bala M’Bala, whom the respected French football writer Erik Bielderman informed us was not very funny at all. Upon investigation it was discovered that Dieudonne’s idea of subjects for a joke included gas chambers and leather made from human skin."

For those questioning if anelka should be charged, should really think again.....

where on earth did i say some of the Ultra's aren't racist? of course they are, doesnt mean theyre názi's unless you think they are one and the same, ive been to plenty of games in Italy, i know there's Racism in the stands, all i was arguing about was the fact that the current Italian Fascists are not the same as the German Názi party

posted on 23/1/14

So they're racist and fascist. That means Di Canio is a racist fascist whilst Anelka is friends with an alleged anti semite.

I know which i think is worse!

Valencia, there's always a certain irony to your comments given the anti semitism of some Spurs supporters.

Anelka's explanation is quite clear. Anelka's friend is being (rightly or wrongly) persecuted by the French authorities. The same French authorities who've admitted that they can't ban the Quenelle because it's meaning is "too vague".

(Not that last bit. The French authorities admitted themselves that the Quenelle was "TOO VAGUE" to ban it!!!)

Anyway, Anelka – and many French people – insist the ‘quenelle’ is not anti-Semitic but anti-establishment, and that it can only be seen as derogatory to Jews if made in that context. As his friend is under attack from the establishment, Anelka, despite his wealth has good reason (in his mind) to attack them.

You don't have to be poor to be anti establishment!

You claim anelka did it in support of his French mate, who claims that its only anti establishment.

Yet, invites a known Holocaust denier on stage, makes anti semetic jokes, gets convicted of anti semetism, makes disgusting jokes as with content that I have highlighted above and yet....

And yet you still defend him????

Do you realize an insult against all the people who were killed by the na*is? It just so happens that the Jews will not let it go unnoticed and rightly so.

What an earth is there left to defend?

You on the other hand are defending Di Canio. Bizarre!

The fact that youre telling me to "keep up" is just ignorant.

Unfortunately there's a tendency for people to see anti Zionism and anti Semitism as the same thing. Shame!

So, youre claiming that the French comedian is anti zionist, correct?

And not anti semetic, correct?

So why did he invite a known Holocaust denier on stage? what has this got do with zionism?

Equally why does he make jokes about gas chambers and leather made of skin?

Please explain.

I'm saying (not claiming that he is anti Zionist. I'm alleging he's anti semitist.

As for the rest, you'd have to ask him. He could've been taking the p1ss out of the Holocaust denier. Either way, these are the actions of Anelka's friend and not Anelka.

If I had a friend who was an anti semite it wouldn't make me an anti semite just a poor judge of friends!

Apologies for commenting on another teams site but I posted this on the Forest board

He has used a football celebration to show his support for Dieudonné M'bala M'bala, this is a man who has close associations with the French National front (their leader Le Pen is godfather to one of his daughters), has celebrated holocaust denier Robert Faurisson and has been quoted as wishing a Jewish journalist had been gassed. In my opinion he should have been immediately banned and his club should be shamed as it seems that their sponsors have taken the moral high ground in a grubby situation.

No disrespect to the fans but I thought it would add to the debate.
