Yet I don't hear any of our media reporting on Israeli supporters threatening & spitting at muslim players , Gibril Kadiyev and Zaur Sadayev, who were forced to leave the pitch under police escort ?
---------------------
why on earth would the british media report on this. stuff likes this happens the world over every day. israeli players aren't even allowed to play in the uae leagues, you don't see the sun writing about this every day.
obviously when a big premier league player, who has played in cl finals and won titles makes a racist gesture it is big news in britain.

this.
One could argue that the events with Salah happened thousands of miles away yet are still reported.
So, are you saying Anelka shouldn't be punished, or we need to hear more about events thousands of miles away that have nothing to do with us?
He needs to be given a chance to explain himself, which I don't think will happen thanks to the media and Zoopla.
Even if his gesture was anti-Semitic, I don't think it is as bad as Terry calling Ferdinand a black c--t which got him a 4 game ban.

Hatred for another race or creed should not be tolerated period.
The media are only writing about it, as the player is entering the world of the Barclays premier league.
I don't see a hidden agenda in there, its probably the only story they found with legs relating to Salah.

its worse, Terry's was a personal attack on Ferdinand, Anelka's gesture was an insult to an entire nation of people

It was a anti-establishment gesture. The media have blown it into a anti-sematic gesture.
Anelka should not have done it but it's no different to Robbie Fowlers and his T-shirt for the dockers.

Isreal gets worldwide protection from everyone with their victim mentality. Absolute travesty what they're doing to Palestine, but this is off topic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am inclined to agree, but this is a dangerous line of discussion.
Did anyone happen to catch Newsnight last night and their special Davos coverage? If the conspiricists are to be believed, then that is the forum where 'decisions' get made.

That's a matter of opinion.
The jews themselves can't decide wether the gesture is anti-Semitic or not , so how can we judge when we know nothing about the background of this gesture?
