When Lennon first joined us he quickly became one of my favourite players. He had tons of raw talent and potential. His blistering pace scared the carp out of most defenders. I thought that in time with more experience gained he would become a top top player. Unfortunately I don't think that has been the case. Apart from the fact that he has learnt to track back and help his right back his attacking attributes have not improved in any marked way.

He has not improved his dribbling skills, his crossing, his decision-making or his goalscoring contribution.

As for Siggy I have absolutely no idea what people see in him. The occasional goal seems to obscure in some peoples minds his abject inadequacies.

Siggy is a quality player but I don't think he suits us. He would thrive in a time where he is the main man and not being played out of position.

It's not lennons fault soldado is shît and can score when Lennon puts it on a plate for him. Which happened a lot before soldado got dropped

-----

soldado is miles better than defoe though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
his all round game is yes.

I am a massive soldado fan as I do watch a lot Spanish league as big R Madrid fan and soldado was facking deadly there, anywhere near the box and it was almost guaranteed a goal.

Hengy I still have faith he will come good. He has come at a time with whole sale changes and a turbelanty period of sacking our manager.

In a settled team and once he has a goal or 2 with the pressure gone I can see him being class.

Exactly 1 assist and 1 goal for Lennon. Is that honestly good enough in your eyes? Sorry mate but he is one of the main points of our attack and all he can muster is 1 goal and 1 assist after playing week in week out. Lamela has equalled his amount of assists in the prem and he's barely played. Sorry but I have seen Lennon for a number of years now and I know lamela from his Roma days and he is twice the player of Lennon. Like I keep saying, you guys who keep being negative on lamela will absolute regret it in the future if he does go and we are left with average c. Rap like Lennon.

Lennon is nowhere near as dangerous as he used to be. But those arguing a out who is and isn't the best player all seem to forget Dembele. I don't give a monkeys about stats, that guy is seriously good and for me was our best player yesterday by a mile. Yet on here people rated him a 5 out of 10!

With the exception of Lloris actually

Loris must be getting fed up seeing that shocking defence infront of him.

Don

You can only assist if the striker scores the goal

Lennon puts it on a plate numerous times this season for the strikers to fack it up. That's NOT Lennons fault

Lamela you say was exceptional at Roma, so is Gerviniho the player most spurs fans took the pee out off. In fact Gerviniho is looking world class for Roma

posted on 30/1/14

The last word that comes to mind when you think about our defence is "unit". That's the problem.

posted on 30/1/14

hengy, Gervinho is still looking nowhere near the player Lamela was at Roma mate. My mate who's a big Inter fan said Gervinho is doing well but he is nothing on the way Lamlea imposed himself in that Roma team.

@samcunningham: Mauricio Pochettino just inadvertently announced that Fulham have signed Lewis Holtby from Tottenham. #thfc #ffc

How the f uck would Pochettino know? Surely means Berbatov is coming back? I would happily take Berbz back for the rest of the season

Lloris will be gone in the summer. You can just see it in his eyes that he is pi$sed off reaching into the net so many times.

Lets be honest if someone half decent with regular CL footy comes in it will be hard to keep him.

Think Southampton was in for him

Not sure about Holtby, liked the fella but not too bothered if he goes.

We have too many players ahead of him imo.

Wrongly ahead of him but that's another debate for another time

Bottom line is in the summer window Spurs will not be in the CL next season, but they have to push out the boat big-time and spend at least £25 million on as good a central defender as they can get hold of, and another £15 million or so on a left back. There can be no holding back now. As I said at the start of the season, the defence was the part of the team that was most in need of repair, when everybody else kept on about strikers.

3 assists according to the pl website, I am talking about league only btw and lamela only has the one assist to his name.

Sandy i agree and i wouldn't be against bringing in a bit of quality for the rest of the season in Berbatov. I know he treated our club like cr ap but he is still a class act and i was at the fulham game where he tore us apart all game despite us winning. He would come in and create chances left, right and centre. We need an extra bit of quality like Liverpool have with Suarez and i think Berbatov could be that solution for the last half of the season. But yeh the likes of Vertonghen and Kaboul need to be bought back quickly because our defence is a shambles.

posted on 30/1/14

Edin, Lamela has 1 assist because he's barely played <jeez> anyway it's 2 assists because he got the penalty against Sherrif and that counts as an assist surely? Plus he has 1 goal which equals Lennon who has played almost every game.

posted on 30/1/14

It was also thanks to Lamela breaking away and releasing the ball against Southampton that led to a Spurs goal.

posted on 30/1/14

I know why, my point was only in the pl comps. Which Lennon has 3 and a goal.

Lennon has played in 9 matches in all comps btw, lamela 17.
