Venky's will never sack Kean. Know why?

I thought steve keans interview after the match was spot on. He said 10 bodies have gone out, only 3 have come in. He said that the owners need to splash the cash. That he had 3 1st team defenders out and had to play probably is best central midfielder at the back. To many youngsters on the pitch at 1 time.


I think all of this is really true and is only saying what the fans, who know what there talking about was thinking on the day as well.
So to sack him 1 game in would be harsh.

I just wish we had people like Tony Parkes back,bring a bit of know how and a bit of luck with it,all this talk about Venkys this and that is driving me round the bend.If we dont do something quickly we are in big trouble.

Kean needs to be removed. Who cares what the reason is? Get a decent man and decent manager into the club and unite the fans. There is nothing wrong with decency and from the moment he was offered the job this slime ball has been a professional embarrassment to the club.

This is not a knee jerk reaction from me based on the news yesterday. It has been clear for a long time that Kean is a total plank and I can not think of anything positive at all that he has contributed to whilst at the club. Some amusingly consider the emergence of Hoillett as all Kean's work, but others trusted him, supported him, worked with him, employed him and rewarded him long before Kean came along. Rovers have been excited by this kid for years.

Give him some credit OOJW he has said champions league football will be along soon, and he works late in the office.

And he is also targeting three or four new players. He is a legend by default.

They won't sack kean. They're probably saving themselves at least 1 million a year by employing him rather than an experienced manager. If they were to sack him they would be under huge pressure to replace him with a proper manager, which would cost them money.

As I have said on previous articles, we will not attract any decent players or managers at Ewood. The last one we had was capable of keeping us in the PL but produced very poor football. No multi-million pound investors will wan't to invest in Blackburn Rovers. We are not a big city club and we are unlikely to win the PL again. Uncle Jack played with the club and invested his cash. However we caught out the big clubs for a short period but we have now well and truly been out muscled in that area.
We have to be realistic and settle for what we have got. Naive investors with an inexperienced manager. Remember all the others we have had that have been sacked, Kidd, Harford and Allerdyce. Only Kenny D has been successful (unless you count the Worthington Cup)

I watched the last 30 mins of Citeh v Swanseh yesterday and the skills gap is so huge, that our Kent man is completely right, the glory days are over.

Unless and until the Football League puts a salary cap into place and basically subsidizes the weaker markets with cash from the strong to keep a national game - fat chance - the game will continue to be dominated by a few cities or individual rich owners. Only when the entire England team comes from players in the lower leagues (or they lose to England's women!) will the problem be tackled and then it will be too late.

But in the meantime, t'Rovers could have an experienced if slightly useless manager (there's plenty of them around), instead of an inexperienced very useless manager, to give us false hope!

This is a terrible point of view.

Personally I draw a sharp line between aims and expectations.

Should we EXPECT to be doing well? No, I agree with you, we're a small club now, too small to survive at this level long-term. Have been ever since the Walker Trust stopped putting their £3m or so a year in to allow us to compete.

But should we AIM to do well? Definitely, why should we just strive for mediocrity? I totally disagree with you in terms of our past managers. Under Souness we finished 6th and won a cup, under Hughes we finished in the top 10 3-times running and made numerous semi-final appearances, under Allardyce we went from relegation certainties to top-half in 1.5 seasons.

In the last decade we've had 3 excellent managers, 1 excellent chairman and (for the most part) 1 excellent set of owners. What Venkys and Kean are doing now isn't criminal exactly but its failing drastically to live up to the high standards set by their predecessors. Surely Venkys can aim for better than this if they really do care about the club.

We have had some amazing managers, amazing players and amazing times in the last 20 years.

Compare some of those times in the recent past against what we are experiencing just now and it is very annoying and frustrating. Building a club to the heights we have achieved without big money takes time, patience and considerable skill, expertise and experience.

Football history is littered with examples of clubs in very good overall condition free-falling due to bad management and poor decision making.

I feel a little outside looking in at the moment. Not a lot makes sense to me, it is hard to enjoy the news and events coming out of the club and common sense suggests a season of struggle. Meanwhile our fans have been hugely patient and we remain hopeful that someone, somewhere can bring a professional calm to the running of the club.
