Joke decision.

Let's build our team around Bairstow and Ballance

Facking mugs. This tour has ruined the next few years.

No KP, No Swann, No Trott, no Flower

Now we have a bunch of Yorkshire rabbits to pin our hopes on

I meant he is a clueless captain which he is. When the going gets tough he wilts like a little boy.

KP is England's best batsman since Ken Barrigton retired although I have much admiration for Gooch's batting average of 43 during the golden era of WI fast bowlers, and Gower's stylish caressing.

Cook's batting average may be just about the same as KP's, but their scoring rates are 62 vs 47. KP is a delightful stroke player who is a joy to watch, and Cook is as boring as Boycs was.

KP pulls crowds to the stands and Cook makes them fall asleep.

A good captain like Brearley would have managed KP well to bring out his best. Inability to get the best out of KP should be considered as a collective failure of Cook and Flower.

Poor decision by England management. Years ago, they dropped Freddie Trueman so many times for his attitude and the saga continued over the years.

Get Mickey Arthur as the England coach. His style blends nicely with England management's.

Cook is a top man and a good young captain.

Look at the India tour, he led by example.

The last tour was a catastophe. It hard to explain why it happened but the captain was not the problem. The team went over there thinking it would be easy.

Tour of India was good because they were winning. Helps that the Indians were a shambles then too.

On a side note why does Boycott hate KP so much? Its like hes jealous of him and wanted the.people to love him like they did with KP.

1) If KP's behaviour was worthy of his sacking, why did Swann say his "attitude was great" when he had nothing to lose by saying otherwise

2) the ecb can't manage one player, yet seem adamant to becoming one of three to control other boards and world cricket- logic?

3) England will go back to 90s with this decision. The spine of the fab team over the years has been ripped apart - swann, Trott and KP

4) a penny for Ravi boparas thoughts

5) ecb quickly becoming a twin of the PCB

6) if KP is reading- if you have any pakistani heritage you're more than welcome mate... Hatred, greed and not liking the next man is part and parcel of our team culture anyway...

Ecb are a disgrace

it's an incredible decision.

i dont ever remember the ECB sacking a player before.

Good riddance!

This idiot shouldn't be in the Ashes team for the beginning.

So the people that are for KP sacking can you explain how you will rebuild/win matches with players like cook, root, bairstow? They only thing they know is block block and block.

I wonder what KP has done. The fact the ECB and all england player said everything was fine when questioned in the media, and now all of a sudden you see them taking this decision.
England might win at home. But only God can save them when they go to the subcontinent, and other places to play tests and the WC.

that's my joke

KP's autobiography will certainly be quite interesting to read.

He is now a hot candidate for IPL.

Agreeing with ECB sacking KP: Boycott, Willis

Disagreeing: Alec Stewart, Vaughan

Never straight: Husain

Boycs was perceived as the most selfish player during his playing days. They had to send a teammate to run him out. He refused to play when he was not given captaincy. I am sure KP will be wiser and more mellowed when he gets to Boycott's age.

willis is barking made anyway.

dissapointed boycs has shot his mouth off. KP always spoke with nothing but praise of boycs.

Take Australia for example. If they started sacking players like Clarke, Watson, Johnson and Warner after the India debacle(that imo was like their lowest point both on field and off field) then would they have ever even won this ashes?

As Vaughan said how hard is it to manage KP? The need of the hour was to get a new coach because the strategies which Flower was producing was being outdone by his counterparts. He had run out of ideas. Bringing a new coach would have actually brought in fresh ideas, which is what Australia did.

posted on 4/2/14

i suspect it's because he's basically had a 'you or me' with 2 different coaches. still, there's plenty of coaches around. not so many england batsman who've scored 8,000 runs

With Boycott Age is getting to him now. Not sure if anyone even cares of Boycotts opinions.

so can we bring graeme thorpe back again now ?

The full story will likely never come out. It can't, for the sake of the integrity of English cricket. The stuffed shirts at the ECB have effectively put their own version of a 100 year D-Notice on the whole sorry saga.

KP won't say a word to criticise the decision. He isn't daft. Rather, he has quietly accepted that he won't ever play for England again.

It would appear to be a situation that suits both parties in as much as covering up something that would embarrass too many people.

Time to move on.

Disappointed with Willis as during the Ashes Verdict he was a firm believer that KP should be made VC and should have a big say in team matters when fielding.

Now he has changed his turn saying the ECB are right.

England team is gonna be very poor without KP, Trott and Swann.

My interpretation: the argument for KP is that all other teams feared him. He was that class cricketer who could tear other teams to pieces.

Well that has been laid bare by the Aus tour. He either played his natural game and walked into traps or played an alien game and struggled.

All other national captains and coaches will have noted that and will be ready. He has lost his "X" factor and is dispensable.

Its fairly obvious this decision is not based on anything onfield.

I think after the SA textx, KP's time was numbered. The ECB were looking for any excuse to get rid of him.

The "start fresh, new start, new team" etc, is a load of tosh. Its justifiying a terrible cricketing decision
