Looks like a completely different player who has a final ball also

At arsenal he would also beat his man but it was always that final delivery.

Maybe we could have persisted with him for one more season?

Considering the activity we did both windows we should have kept him, even more so since we went for inferior players such as Cisse and Kalou!

I wanted him to stay initially but didn't cry when he left because I was certain his departure would contribute to an attacking replacement

Never understood letting him go at all. He clearly improved infront of goal and was only going to get better. Also, I thought we always looked our most threatening with him and Walcott left and right.

I know there was the ACON problem but given the squad now, we'd cope comfortably with him going off to that. Not a catastrophe but letting him go was a bad idea I think.

I wasn't upset when he went but as stated already, our summer activity was pretty much non existent so could have kept him.

He looks so dangerous for Roma

Some players just don't do well in the PL, including Gervinho

Gervinho was poor for us, simple as that. He's now found a place, and a club that appears to suit him. I think that the slower pace of Italian football gives him slightly more time to think, as a result, he does not look like the headless chicken that he so often looked for us.

I would wish him well, but his bitter comments after he left disappointed me slightly.

He just sets someone else. Should have been 3.

Starting to miss conehead

Just shows how crap Italian football is.

Don't regret selling him, people have short memories. The amount of chances he squandered and the amount of anger aimed at him was just unreal.

We did the right thing selling him. Maybe now he's a better player because of it, but at the time, it was the right decision to make.

Grvinho's best trait in Arsenal was his uncanny ability to get in really dangerous positions. It's a quality only Walcott offers in our current squad. Except Gervinho's composure was poor and his technique was poor. But a lot of players in our team could learn from Gervinho's off-the-ball movement. Our build-up play is looking really static right now.

Can't argue with that, his movement was really good which is why I always preferred him as a striker as opposed to an inside forward. Shame he was so diabolical when he got the ball though.

I liked him. Should have kept him another season as we have not exactly gone mad with signings in attacking positions.

Oh well.

To be fair to him, our midfield was not as good as now last season. Ramsey wasn't as good, neither was Wilshere and we didn't have Özil.
Maybe this year would have different if we still gad him.

Well, have you watched him play for Roma to start with?
Sure the Italian league is slower but Roma midfield and strikers help him by opening space and having better movement and finish.
At Arsenal, most of the time he was either trying to make space or find himself running at full speed and losing control.

True. Didn't do his confidence any good. Good luck to the guy. Hope he does well. Not suited to the EPL.

Let's not get all nostalgia and rewrite history. He was shjt for us. FACT.

Wasn't right for the EPL, couldn't adjust to the pace of it. In italy he has the time on the ball as its more tactical, the best player i've seen with the ball for Arsenal until he got near the 18 yrd box.
