Great test match between 2 quality teams... Saffers have proven exactly why they are and deserve to be at number 1
We are well over the 30 mins extra time of play & Steyn strikes
8 down - Saffas will want to finish it off today but do they have enough time & will the light hold.
It would be sad if SA's victory is halted by the rain. They have been the better team without a doubt and deserve to win this test match. no ifs and no buts.
Steyn showing who is the genuine world number 1 bowler.
How much rain is forecasted tomorrow?
Steyn can bowl anything. he reverses the ball at a high pace, can bowl those deadly toe crashing yorkers, can bowl inswingers and outswingers. He has everything in his book.
When all pacers had a tough time in this rather odd SA'n wicket, steyn comes up with this performance. As a cricket fan can only stand and applaud his efforts.
Great comeback from the number 1 side. Looking forward to the decider.
Glad to see order and hierarchy restored.
Think SA has the edge now. They are definately going to prepare a similar wicket. And johnson threat will be negligible. Cause the Aussie pacers have struggled. Lyon wont be a big threat.
ian chappel, said that there is no way for SA to comeback. well on the face, in 4 days the aussies have rolled over. So much to learn from SA. dont get bogged down by one defeat.
Top performance by the saffers. Newlands will be a humdinger no doubt.
Even though Australia have had a good summer and still are doing well, they will need to start finding young fast bowlers. Harris isnt going to last for that many years. he is already 35 and injury prone. Need to find a replacement for rogers as well. I know he is doing well, but realistically he is not going to play for 2-3 years more?
I actually think Rodger can play for another 2 years min. Hes waiting so long for his chance and i very much doubt he will let it pass without a fight.
Him and Warner up top are a good opening team. Think the Aussies need to see if the young bowlers (Starc, Pattinson, Faulkner ect) can step up.
G Smith has been inconsistent. His scores in 2013-14 so far: 1, 54, 24, 52, 19, 29, 5, 15, 32, 234, 68, 44, 47, 27, 10, 4, 9, and 14. If you exclude that 234 in UAE, his batting average drops to 23. Not sure what the reasons are, he tends to perform relatively poorly on home pitches.
Just imagine if South Africa had a good spinner? Not even world class, but a good one.... They would walk every game.

Viru,
Rogers is playing extremely well and with this form he can play for next 3 yrs for sure. Best e.g. is Misbah from Pak who is still playing very well. This is the problem with some fans I don't understand for all Nations that if a player is playing well then why do you care for age? Main criteria should be performance and of-course I know the theory to groom the youngsters but this ain't no club cricket.. At the end of the day I care for results to win at present and one eye open for future lol..
Regarding pacers Aussies have plenty if Harris breaks down. It is our team India with lollypop bowlers and useless Zak holding place instead of giving chance to Ishwar Pandey etc who needs big time help in that department. In fact, our bowling is shame in all areas, even Lyon is lot better than Ashwin or Jaddu (spin dept.)
Yes Lyon has impressed me the most. He is probably the 2nd best spinner in the world. He is a lot better than Ashwin and jadeja. Cause he has picked 100+ wickets outside the subcontinent at a similar average of ashwin, who has picked bulk of his wickets on square turners.
I dont know whether you guys have watched MC's press conference. This is what a true leader should be like. If they have been outplayed he says it openly, unlike our MSD, who found a lot of improvements in the team despite a winless streak for over 3 years now.
He also openly admitted that he needs to score runs. Whereas our dhoni will find faults in the top order, middle order and the bowlers. He will never say that he needs to score runs as well.
If you are test captain you need to lead from the front to inspire your team, take clarke, smith, cook(when he did well before the ashes debacle), misbah. all perform with the bat.
I said damn SA cricket board for bending over for BIG THREE to give an unfair advantage to India,Australia and England and let them hold hostage entire cricket national boards and cricket in general!
Its over pal, move on.. May be if you take a class on economics, then it may help you to understand the logistics of finances. Take a chill pill and enjoy the awesome cricket..
David Warner showed us that when you are not good form, you walk over to a nearby bar, beat up a small fellow sitting there and minding his business, and suddenly, you transform into a very lucky and successful batsman. What a transformation this has been for Warner!!
Joe root before getting the punch was in really good form. Slowly after that he has forgotten how to play cricket in general.
And the exactly opposite has happened to Warner.
Anyway back to this game, How effective is Philander? He has been made to look quite average so far. Both India and Australia seem to have dealt with him with relative ease. Morkel despite bowling so well so far hasnt been able to pick that many wickets. Considering steyn is injured will be hard for SA to bowl Aus for a total less than 400.
Finally Shehwag v2 has arrived, wrote some cricinfo poster. Couldnt agree more. Warner definitely feels like Shehwag on his prime nowadays. What an entertaining knock he played today. Wow, australia to cricket is brazil to football.
Anyone see Morkel roughing up Clarke in the extraordinary over??? Great watch. Quality test cricket... Fair play to Clarke for going inside the line time and time again...very brave. Bravo to Morkel, but has bowled way too short... Mix it up man
