Murphy came highly rated

Kebe PROVEN

Stewart Hull fans said he has ability but waned post injury.

Hunt, experienced a recent title and promotion season.

Wootton, zaliukas, both better than Lee's.

Mike, not if you look at Zal Sheff Weds performance!

I remember us both lamenting his backheel. He was ok before then though albeit slow.

Jonty, surely you can't blame BM much though? You said before the season the squad was no where near good enough, and have said that GFH have been terrible owners that have not supported him nearly enough.

Isn't it then unfair to suggest he isn't doing a good enough job?

Surely he is doing as well as possible given the circumstances in your opinion?

For what my opinion is worth:

Murphy - Has shown glimpses, not enough granted, but I think he will turn out to be good player for us

Kebe - We saw 2nd half against Hudds what he can do, and he has done over a period of a few years. Seems to lack a bit of confidence

Stewart - started off poor but I think he has gradually improved every game

Hunt - massive disappointment, I thought he could've been a shrewd signing down to his work rate! not happened for him

Wootton & Zaliukas - both started off well but haven't featured since, jury's out!

There is only really Ross, Pearce and Paddy who have performed consistently over the season! BM has a lot to prove and I don't know whether he will, only time will tell! It has been frustrating on the whole as for periods against Brum, Watford, Leicester and Huddersfield we have played some great stuff, we just don't do it often enough.

Did everyone know that in the USA the term BM means Bowel Movement?

I know its a painful pun but hopefully BM can shift some poo in the summer.

..............our one half decent performance in recent weeks came when he wasn't here.

You see, the thing is. It was BM's team, it was BM's team selection and BM's tactics they used in that game. Therefore, you can say that he was there in a way

No, I don't think he is.

But you said that the squad was substandard and expected to finish 10th, and you don't think that he has had the finances to improve on this?

Why do you then expect the manager to be doing better?

Because since I predicted mid table, he has brought in quite a few players which have made little or no impact, has been powerless to halt a run of abysmal form and I expected more form him as a manager.

Nice bloke, but I think that is obscuring that he's not delivering on the pitch.

Jonty - yes, a good read.

Like you I was very pleased to see BM appointed and all the initial noises about liberated players etc. were positive.

Looking at it now, there are question marks over most of his signings, and as others have said he's been found wanting tactically too.

There's no doubt in my mind that he's not a manager capable of giving us long-term success. However, that doesn't mean he should be sacked straight away. His dismissal should wait until a new manager and funds are both lined up ready. Consideration of players' current contracts should also be a factor.

Warwick, I'm not saying he hasn't had a lot of issues to deal with, he has and I don't envy him.

How long are we going to sit here poor performance after poor performance and say, it's ok because he's a nice bloke?

What is the story with leeds? Do you boys have money? I am sure I read somewhere that you make a profit every year. You are the biggest club in the league in my opinion and should really be in the top flight every year. What goes wrong? Are people just trying to make money out of the club?

Assuming Cellino gets his 75% stake, I think the reality is that BM is on death row. Of course, until he goes he will appear to get support from the club in public.

It may be that a few more weeks of this will change the views of the supporters, and a sacking would be more popular.

In addition, Cellino would want to have a new manager lined up. If he's really lucky BM may even walk, which would save him a considerable sum.

Warwick, I don't think BM would walk, I wouldn't if I were him, he stands to lose a lot of money.

Whole things is a mess.

I can see the argument for and against sacking BM,

Personally I wouldn't yet. Give him till the end of the season and see if things improve. If they don't then we should start lining up a replacement and if we find someone willing to tke the job on and a top manager then we should sack BM. Don't do it and then start looking though, we could end up with a lot worse.

The trouble is also that there aren't that many managers around who I think are what we need and would come to the club.

There is no way BM would walk or should walk. Why would he? Like Jonty says he would lose out on a hell of a lot of money....more than what we will be earning this year anyway. And he won't do it for the good of the club because for one he obviously believes he is the best man for the job, as would any of us in that position!

posted on 12/2/14

I don't think I explained myself very well. I was saying that if BM walked it would save Cellino a lot of money - a scenario not dissimilar to Malky Mackay.

I don't think he would walk either, but it's always possible. And every month that goes by is a month less severance to pay.

We're not in a good position to attract a new manager with all the uncertainty, so another reason for waiting. In addition, a manager coming in next week would have no advantage over one coming in towards the end of the season.

Can anyone really say that any other manager (who would have come to us) would have done any better under the circumstances?

Let's just wait and see what he's like once the carp is taken away. I think he deserves at least until the end of the season.

posted on 12/2/14

Stoopo - many of mistakes were made in the summer when the club was looking forwards.
And he's not had to contend with his best players being sold against his wishes - unlike Warnock or Grayson.
