With Liverpool`s title charge apparently

Liverpool have a very slim outside chance. Spurs are 3 points behind a side having a very slim outside chance and have a goal difference so horrendous it may as well be 4 points.

dunno, that doesn't really sound like right in the mix.

I think you can do all the games & points analysis that you want, but most people would probably accept Spurs just won't win the title. That's not a wum, just don't think they have looked anything like title contenders all season.

at the moment we are both in it, 4 and 7 points off top means you have to be considered. I think liverpool are being mentioned due to the home games we have against city and chelsea and should we win them then it will have a big impact on the title race.

But spurs are going well, winning games, have a very in form striker and have a decent fixture list so id not write them off personally, dont think we will win the title and just hope for a top 4 finish but if we are being mentioned in the title race then so should spurs.

Spurs having a europa league campagin no navigate is propably why they are not getting talked about as much, thursday sunday seems to take allot out of teams.

I think your impending Europa league involvement and playing Thursday Sunday will take its toll!

You can say we've got a big squad but it's obvious that Sherwood doesn't trust certain players and if that's the case he'll be more inclined to stick with the select few he does trust!

If it's so obvious, would you be so kind and tell us who Sherwood doesn't trust?

I have mentioned in the article that Spurs are not in all probability in a title race, but have said in the article that with the points I expect them to gain until the end of the season, they will be in the mix.

I disagree with you on your point that you say Spurs don`t look like title contenders. Trophies are not normally decided on whether you look like something or not, they are normally decided on winning games, and Spurs are certainly doing plenty of that.

Maybe not right in the mix right now, but there is still a third of a the season to play, and Spurs are not horrendously off the pace, and they themselves are now starting to up the ante, and I think there are a lot of points still up for grabs.

For Liverpool (or Spurs) to even have a chance, 3 (all 3 of them) clubs have to bottle it as well as one of us having top form until the end of the season

nothing wrong with believing, but I wouldn't bet much on it

Agreed!

By why are Liverpool.....someones thread on here the other day actually showed their form since Christmas to be about 4th out of the top 7, significantly below Spurs' who have closed the gap from 9 to 3 points in that time.

While LFC score for fun their defence is pretty average at best. Only Fulham Cardiff Norwich & Stoke have a worse away defensive record than LFC.

In fairness they do raise their game in the big matches so if they can beat City Chelsea & United then they really will be in the hunt BUT that is a massive IF....and you kinda expect them to slip up away from home at somewhere like Cardiff or Norwich because they still have that in their locker, IMO.

LFC and THFC are in a race for 4th unless those above go into freefall (wouldnt put it passed Arsenal). The game at Anfield will have massive significance....MASSIVE!

That was me, a font of information as usual.

This article is more about the points I expect Spurs to be able to accumulate until the end of the season, and I would have thought 81 points is a not too an unhealthy total, and as I said should put Spurs in the mix. OK, it may not work out as plan, but given the current form of Spurs, they seemed to have gone up a notch in the past month, and with players coming back from injury, a settled defence, they should be well capable of winning a lot of the dozen games they still have to play until May.

Some posters have mentioned Europa League and having to play Sundays, I don`t wear that excuse, Spurs seem to be playing most of their games on a Sunday anyway, and they have not had a Europa game since December. And anyway one or two extra games in that competition should not be a big deal with a the 25 man squad, and all our rivals either involved in CL or FA Cup matches, surely they will all have extra matches as well.

Indeed, and in fairness to Spurs, they are racking up the results. I think once it gets to game 29/30, it becomes squeaky bum time, where the pressure is incredible for the teams at the top, and performances become irrelevant compared to results. We'll see. I've thought Man City all season long, but I'm starting to think Chelsea just might sneak it.

We have Zero chance of winning the league and unless Liverpool suffer a loss in form or injuries an outside chance of Top4..We have stumbled our way to our current position. We are Spurs and the our next demise is easily round the corner.

We have the squad to cope with the extra games, only problem is if we pick up more injuries in key areas.....in particular CB & LB where we seem prone to injury

since xmas we played City and Chelsea away on the 26th and 29th of December

It's more accurate to say the top two title favourites playing at home cut the gap

Always good to have a proper true Spurs supporter on the article. Optimism not your finest point I gather.

I have certainly not factored in the the inevitably Spurs feccck up, but then I cannot think of everything.

You are not alone in suffering injuries......Vertonghen, Rose & Kaboul have all had extended periods out and now Chiriches is out until April.

However I have always felt Spurs have had the quality and depth of squad to cope better than LFC would...if LFC can keep their strikeforce fit then you might just outscore opposition for the rest of the season.

Spurs just need to keep close to LFC and the pressure that will build from about April onwards might make it a bit easier for the chasing teams.

Seems to me that you're only taking Spurs and Liverpool into account here or you've totally not noticed that the top three have lost a little momentum. Chelsea drew at West Bromwich and were hanging on towards the end, Arsenal thrashed and drew, Manchester City beaten and drew. I see Spurs and Liverpool as the teams upwardly mobile and the others flagging. Mata is a big loss to Chelsea I think we'll see.

TRUE! But we are relying on them slipping up, all of them! and the likelihood of that happening is slim...a give for Arsenal though

Manchester City from free scoring to zilch in two matches, Arsenal couldn't beat Moyes and co which leaves Chelsea without Mata, wait and see.
