We arn't, but it was probably the same as when you played Watford how you felt and you wouldn't really say you were big rivals with them.
I know we are your biggest rivals (as confirmed in a fan opinion poll for all teams a few years ago) but your not ours, that isn't having a go, you just really arn't.
Of course we want to beat you on Wednesday as it is a very big game and with the league positions and the game last season it will add a bit of spice to it, but it isn't the same as a derby game, it is more like a Leeds game to be fair.
Oh, is it "I thought you didn't care about us" time again already?
I think the Forest rivalry has become bigger in recent years. Go back 10 years and it was Coventry, go back 20 years and it was Derby. For a long time we weren't playing in the same divisions.
Forest are our local rivals along with Derby, Who you regard as the bigger rival can depend on where you live.
I have to say in my experience though that if Cov return to the championship and if we are there, that will be the most bitter rivalry for Leics. We simply don't like Coventry in a way which I don't think applies to Forest or even Derby
Go back 50 years and Nottingham Forest were our biggest rivals of all within the region, so much so that I remember when Matt Gillies and Johnny Carey (Forest manager) had to go on to the pitch to appeal to the fans to stop fighting on one occasion.

Well go back 120 years and it was probably Loughborough Dynamo, who apparently were in the top flight for one season!
Obviously Forest / Derby is a much bigger rivalry than Forest / Leicester. But it is definitely a rivalry, as it is when we play Leeds or Sheff Utd. I've been to lots of Forest v Leic games and it's always quite heated but nothing like the Derby game. We always lose when I go so I'm glad I can't make this one!
Pretty sure it was star wars day (May 4th) that we beat Forest, not May 5th, I could be wrong?
If I am right, they don't care enough about us to at least get the dates right
"Well go back 120 years and it was probably Loughborough Dynamo, who apparently were in the top flight for one season!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back then they were just plain Loughborough and I may be wrong, but I think it was the 2nd division – whatever, they did manage to inflict Arsenal's heaviest ever league defeat 8-0, yes, that's right: eight - nil!
...also, downsouf's dead right about the City v Forest rivalry.
These things shift over time, but in the 60s, City v Forest was THE East Mids derby, because both clubs had been well established in the first division for many years. In contrast, the sheep were languishing in the lower reaches of the old second division until the arrival of old big 'ead.
Typical Leicester fan, living in the past
The genuine truth is they don't (care about us like they do Derby). You would only have to glance at one of their forums to realise that their rivalry with Derby is a massively important part of their identity as fans.
They are our rivals too, but the truth is we don't care about them as much as Derby fans do or as much as some of their fans think we do. I recently saw a poll of Leicester fans titled "who do you most like to beat?" Guess what, Forest were top of the poll, but the winning score was only something like 18%. That means that 82% picked someone else: Derby, Coventry, Hull, Watford etc.. What a Forest fan doesn't understand is that when we vote them as our biggest rivals it still might only be a minority of fans who think so.
A single rivalry simply isn't an important part of a Leicester fan's identity like it is for a Forest/Derby fan. I actually find their obsession with each other quite bizarre, somewhat strange and a little quaint. I also think it's self serving to some extent and somehow makes them feel better about themselves - but maybe I don't understand as I'm not a fan of either club.
But what I also don't understand is why some Leicester fans are bothered what Forest fans think of us. Why should we care whether they care or not? The best way to annoy other team's fans is to beat them and then move on.

With Derby, the dislike is obviously intense and reciprocated however I feel it's based on them perpetually having a point to prove (well ever since Sir Brian) and ourselves being obliged to put them back in their place as subordinates Agree with Stillhate that they are certainly more unhealthily obsessed with what we do ( or don't).
As for Leicester, I'm benignly indifferent. Kudos to them for a fine season so far and that 9 match win streak which has all but guaranteed auto promotion. Growing up I liked that they were managed by MON, had a player called 'Muzzy Izzet' and most of all were sponsored by Walkers crisps (not sure about that now)...Got a feeling a number of their supporters see us as overbearing and arrogant though, much more of a bigger scalp than Derby though all being said!
I should add that I really don't like Forest as a club. I think the term "delusions of grandeur" was probably invented for them and their fans. I'm simply pointing out that the perception of what "rivalry" means to the two sets of fans is very different and often misunderstood.

Unfortunately, this about covers it for me (with all due respect to the posters here). I can find Forest fans to be similar to Leeds fans in having an attitude that if they say they're a big club often enough that everyone else will believe them. Of course, this makes it all the funnier when they fall on their faces. Add Billy Davies into the mix and I must admit a bit of schadenfreude creeps in when I see a Forest loss on the results list.
This probably sounds a bit discourteous, but it about covers things for me. I tend to find that both Forest and Leeds fans can be both pleasant and intelligent, but only as long as their team's losing.
We need to get out of this league quick sharp, sick of sh itty clubs like Derby and Leicester claiming to be worthy rivals FFS.
You want to leave Omar? I would've thought that after your struggles to get back to this level you'd be quite grateful to be here. Forest in the Premier League? Now there's one for the nostalgics.

Yep, just like that!
Ignoring the clinically thick comments. How good it be to turn the prem into the east midlands the first Divivsion used to in the star soccer days All three of to go up

Nev, that's a priceless description!
I'm right with you on the promotion thing, it would be great if all three went up – it's hard to maintain a meaningful rivalry with teams you don't play.
Didn't take long for this to get nasty did it. A classic example of what Forest and Leicester fans are like would be at the Walkers stadium around 7-8 years ago. Fores fans were singing "Aint won **** all, you aint won **** all" and I was sat in the Leciester end and I heard one bloke turn to his mate and say "Two league cups mate" in a slightly sad and dejected tone.
