United are not any other top club

i wonder where United would be now if they had listened to muppets like you during the early Fergie days

Steve Round would be a better manager.

Ah that old line

Different circumstances, different era. Football has changed.

If you think that Fergie is anything like Moyes then I think football is not the sport for you

"i wonder where United would be now if they had listened to muppets like you during the early Fergie days"

On the flip side, I wonder where you would be if you had stuck with McGuiness or O'Farrell...

And Dreamy, stop with the cringeworthy "we are not any other top club".

This snobby attitude that we are morally better than our rivals is tiresome and embarrassing.

Moyes is like a sacrificial lamb brought into to lower h fan expectation for the next manager

Fergie won 3 titles with Aberdeen, breaking up Celtic-Rangers domination and also two European trophies too beating Real Madrid in one final.

He was worth sticking with. Moyes is NOT

Exactly.

Fergie had credentials. Moyes does not.

I'm quite sure a lot if Utd fans on here go lalalalalalala with their fingers in their ears to avoid contemplating how close fergie was to getting the sack at Utd.

But in fairness I'm not sure even with a war chest, that Moyes will be above mediocre, he looks lost already and more difficult to get that time compared to fergies early years as expectation were not as high.

This. .... I could not fathom how so many in the press and lots of United fans could liken moyes to Fergie. What Fergie did at Aberdeen was exceptional. Moyes couldn't do anything close to it with one of England's most successful clubs over ten years

What a Nugget! Fergie didn't take over a team that had one the league 5 times in the last 7 seasons.
Moyes is so far out of his depth it is now beyond embarrassing to watch

This this something people always seem to forget when they reel out the 'Fergie started slow too' line.

We need to be like other top clubs then

Our club cannot improve with Moyes unless Moyes spends shed loads of money
Even then we will still struggle

Moyes must be sacked

Very sensible views from a rival fan

Like I said I have been very impressed with you guys this season and think you deserve that fourth spot. You and City have played the best attacking football this season

Op says it all its roy at us mark two. The brand of football killed me under roy and this current united side is the worst one ive seen in over twenty years watching football I turned the game off tonight at half time. Never seen a united side so bereft of ideas in posession you couldn't pass the ball outside your own half

posted on 26/2/14

Why get used to it when something can be done about it?

We have the resources to be champions. Unfortunately, we have a weak and incompetent manager so it renders this pretty much useless.

We get in a quality manager and the difference will hit you like an uppercut

Even if the teams not as strong as previous sides cert a in things can be done to give them a chance. But moyes has you so badly set up that you're poor in posession and poor without it.

I am the OP

I started watching United when I was 7 years old. The 97-98 season where Arsenal won the league was the first proper season I remember vividly.

In my time watching United, I can admit that tonight is one of the ultimate lows. I preferred to watch us when we had the likes of Bellion, Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson disgracing our shirt. This is as poor as we have been in my lifetime.

I'm sure the supporters in the 70's and 80's will tell me that there were some tough times then. My dad used to stand in the old scoreboard end in these two decades and he said we are playing worse now than what we did back in those years.

I know Marlo meant you covered it in the op. Im watching football since euro 88 and properly since italia 90 and even when you had some poor players You were still United. Start fast and score then just murder teams on the counter. There was a point in the first half tonight when Rooney won the ball just inside your half. The counter was on but he turned around went backwards and win a soft free it summed up moyes for me and was just so un United like that's why I honestly think it's the worst side I've seen.
