After our defeat by the Owls I said that Barnsley would be made pay, but I'm now having second thoughts, since we will be without the services of both Vaughan & Lynch.

Our league record at home against Barnsley is also very poor and in fact, over the last 30 years they have come to Huddersfield 14 times in league action and have in fact won 3 and only lost on 4 occasions, whilst the remaining 7 have all been draws. (P14 - W4 -D7 - L3 - F16 - A14).

So, since Barnsley are more desperate for points than us, plus the fact that our two main players are side lined yet again and, when added to the fact that our home record against them is poor to say the least, I reckon we are in for another titanic struggle on Saturday.

So unfortunately, I cannot see anything better than a banker 1-1 draw, although if we don't keep a tight watch on "bogie man" Chris O'Grady, then they could even pinch it by the odd goal.

Sorry to be negative again regarding our chances, but no one would be happier than I come Saturday night, if we have somehow found a performance to spoil Parkies, Dickie Bird's & Goughy's night for a change.

Reckon Robins has been getting some 'tips' from Moyes at Man Utd ? It's always a difficult game against the lower placed clubs...& despite having a 'home end' for this one, I hope TOWN score early on, because the longer Baaaaaarnsley owd out, the more the home fans will tend to turn on the players & become a negative hindrance than that of positive support

It's going to be really close, but I've got a great feeling about this one, two nil to Town!

If there is one crumb of comfort we can draw upon, it's the fact that Barnsley have the worst away record in the entire division, having only won a solitary game whilst losing 10 and drawing the remaining 4. (P15 - W1 - D4 - L10 - F11 - A24).

However, if we forget their defeats at Blackburn, QPR & Wigan, all the remaining 10 games were lost by a single goal and what's more, they only conceded a total of 9 goals in these matches. Their 4 away draws were at Ipswich, Leeds, Brum & Donny, whilst their solitary away success was a 2-1 win at Brighton.

So, I'm still sticking to my original forecast of a 1-1 draw in a very tight game of few chances, although if truth be known, I'm really pinning all my hopes on Wardy having an absolute blinder and carrying us on his own shoulders, to a scintillating success against all the odds.

I can't gauge this one ! I can see another daft defeat !.

Our best form this season was over the december period with pato n wardy up front together..once pato settled he started bagging em..but got that injury and things haven't been the same since!
Now wells at bradford fed off a big man wit knock downs and crosses into box sommet we dont do wi robins its pass pass pass...I dont blame wells he isnt used to/suited to our style of play and is lookin peesed off tbh wi no celebrating towns goals at brum!
We dont have a big man but pato has dun nowt wrong to be left out and I wud play pato alongside wells and wardy and hammill can bomb down the wings n get some ammo into box...clayts n norwood are more than capable of running the midfield....so a defo 4 4 2 from me
