This is quite sad. No wonder players are scared to death playing for the national team. Players need to be supported at their best and worst.
Not even funny..

Yeah I agree we need to be backing players who represent the national side. A similar situation happened with Hargreaves back in 2006 when he got selected by Sven to represent the national side at the world cup. Hargreaves ended up being our best player and the rest is history.
People go on about how Welbeck and Cleverly shouldn't be picked, but tbh they usually perform well for England. It's like the fans and media decides or want to decide who should and shouldn't play... Our job is to support, not to demand or say how the national team should be run. .
{honestlivpool~five~times} - Especially in the case of Welbeck who has played very well for England since he made his debut. I don't think Cleverley will make it to Brazil. Carrick, Gerrard, Lampard, Barkley, Wilshere and probably Henderson are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
They make it seem surprising that Barkley and Osman aren't getting England caps. As much as Barkley has been hyped up, he hasn't impressed me and if he was at United (or any other "big" club) it would be him who the petition was about.
However, whoever (consecutive words that are anagrams of one anothet
*another) produced this petition is just as sad as the people who have signed it - very sad. Cleverley is no world beater and having a tough time but the manager selects who he sees as the right players. End of
Cleverly doesn't deserve this.
Just as he didn't deserve the abuse he got on twitter from his own clubs fans.

Infairness no player deseveves this, a petition is too much.
But can anyone here say they want TC to go to the world cup?
What I would love is TC to use this as a platform and feed off this negative energy and use it to his advantage and up his game.
But tbh it seems as if hes not that type of person.
can think of other England players who deserve the abuse as much if not more
Poor bloke, he gets so much stick.
Would be better off with a petition to replace Hodgson with Redknapp
Not a fan of Cleverly at all, and I think Hodgson was a poor appointment but this is utterly disgraceful of the English public and is one of the main reasons that our national team is so carp!!!
Redin, I'd be all for that - I think Redknapp should have got in anyway.
Unfortunately the men in suits at the FA were never going to appoint a tax evading cockney as the England manager, and they never will.

Redknapp was the people's favourite and the players choice.
Hodgson is just a buffoon. Especially after his views on playing Sturridge when he carried a knock.

Ok mate but its still not called for fella
I agree. But from a political point of view Hodgson was always going to get the job, sadly.
What's annoying is that we have potentially two more years of Hodgson.
Where do we go from after that? It's not like we are brimming with talented English coaches, and I get the feeling the FA aren't too keen on appointing another foreign manager - even though Capello and Sven are two of England's most successful coaches.

I don't agree with the abuse but does Cleverley really have 13 England caps already ??
Probably the most pathetic thing I've ever seen

I take it you've not been watching Antonio Valencia the last two seasons then?
I love the way he has to change position when somebody passes him the ball so he can control it with his right foot
