Agreed the guy is a 5 but a fit Ashley Cole is better than Danny Rose, and the experience and advice he could provide Rose with could be beneficial long term.
Think Evra's contract is up this season as well, close call between him and Cole.
Evra is a fair shout, especially with their troubles, although wages would probably be a stubmling block for mr levy with either of them, even if their ages weren't..

Evra is past it, Cole could do a job but again is past his best, both are better than our current options though.
Ideally, new LB should be early to mid twenties and proven.
I would be horrified if that caaaant Ashley Cole came anywhere near WHL.
i'd take him on a one year contract
he would be a good addition to the treatment table down at WHL
Yeah... Spurs will pay 100k plus a week for a bloke over 30.
In other words, no chance.
Plus, he's a caaant.
Ashley cole
Is that a serious suggestion?
Evra past it but Cole good for 3 seasons??
Zeki Fryers
I think either Cole or Evra would be a good addition.
If Rose and Fryers are to be our future, then surely including into their learning experience the opportunity to train and learn from some of the best in the business can only be a good thing?
And as for comments such as 'Ashley Cole. Is that a serious suggestion ' - pathetic. How about adding something to the discussion, rather than being high-and-mighty about it. Give someone something to agree or disagree with, rather than hiding behind a shield of superiority.
I think Evra - due to the fact he's a machine that doesn't miss a game - would be the better option of the two, though neither will happen.
Rose hasn't progressed and makes the same errors in every game. Fryers seems more disciplined and generally a better defender, an old head while he learns would be ideal.
He's a no doubt, but not as much of a as the likes of:
Mourinho
Drogba
Pepe
Terry
Lampard
Still wouldn't take him though.
No thak you - better player yes, better team member no.
I reckon we are still in with a shout for luke shaw byt more worried about this saturday.
Looks like we could end up with veljkovic in defence whilst a very good youngster it is not ideal to be making his debut.
