I did but his quotes now seem that he genuinely is looking outside of Bayern, so I thought I'd re-do it now there seems to actually be something in this story

This has got Madrid written all over it....

Nope, just me running out of fresh things to post
I agree, I can see PSG offering him stupid money, or even Madrid/Barca - I think they were talking about looking to replace Xavi in the long term recently, which Kroos would be perfect at.

Although if we get the chance, I would throw everything available in to secure the signature and solidify our midfield

But for Liverpool to get Kroos, they will have to change their entire wage structure.

Highly unlikely.

Liverpool would have to smash their wage structure and not sure how that would go down with one certain Uruguayan

We'll have to change it when we're in the CL anyway. I'm assuming there'll be plenty of pay rises for those already at the club, as it's well known we tend to offer incentive based contracts. Clubs have structures depending on CL/non CL football, so may not be as unlikely as you think....

Really? What's our wage structure then?

I just wonder if we were to secure champions league this year, why would he go there over us?

--------------------

so you'd think any player would base a move on one season out of what, 23??

this would be the first time in god knows how long where we wont have had CL football, and the first for you in about 4 or 5 years.

But your 'decline' has been more drastic than most imagined (or dreamt ) It's bound to make potential targets think twice.

Yes but it looks as if it could be the first of many.

And this looks like the first of many as well.......

I can see Dunc's point and think many players will consider going there due to United's reputation and not their form over the course of the year...

however i think much more damaging will be if you lose a high profile player (RVP for example) and he bad mouths the new regime, training, tactics etc.

I think players have little confidence in Moyes as a manager especially foreign players who must look at his trophy haul and question his skills.

i dont think CL is that important to be honest in regards to signing players as long as the players can see the club aiming in the right direction.

Monaco is a prime example.

the signed Falcao, Rodriguez, moutinho and someone else i cant remeber.

money talks.

Monaco is solely based around money and players do not go there for the standard of football or fans...

however if a player wants to move to the prem, to say that they discount champs lge football is a very big hope on your part and not much more.

taking all rivalry and banter away, the Glazers arent stupid and will only give Moyes so much time.

Utd are a huge money making machine, but to do that we need to see some form of regular success, and if moyes fails to do that, then they will just replace him.

on a regular basis yes i'd agree.

if moyes is being given the rumoured 200 million kitty thats being mentioned though, any player would see that and think, right, this club means buisness, i could go a season without CL football.

city are a prime example of that.

posted on 10/3/14

i can see that point of view and think some players will.. but i do think even one year out of the champs lge will make a player think...as will the managers reputation.

I agree that the board wont take another year of this but by then it will be too late as i think they will give him the transfer window.

to me city are the perfect example...all that money and Mancini just wasnt a good enough manager...

it does matter..how much it matters is up for debate.

Liverpool don't have a wage structure and we pay Luis £200k per week.

Problem is, United may start feeling the squeeze financially. You've been guarenteed CL footie for so long, it's been easy for the Glazers to juggle your finances. The 40m give or take that CL gives you covers your loan repayments, leaving other revenue for players. Take that CL revenue away and you may see a snowball effect.

Terminator,

by all accounts when doing the finances the Glazers already have a plan in place in terms of finances should we fail to make the top 4 for a couple of seasons.

the 600 million kit deal should soften the blow
