I'd say Marshall has challenged Cech a bit. He's been outstanding for Cardiff, certainly the keeper in form.

The awards were a joke that season. Didn't Rooney win player of the season also?
If koscielny gets in the team I would of lost all my faith in mankind, any big game he is terrible, such a liability. Mertesacker fair enough but still as solid as JT and Cahill?no.
Azpi should be definately in it along with probably shaw as it stands.
Midfield is tough, hazard is a must, I think Henderson has been fantastic for Liverpool,Toure, and then maybe Johnson(sunderland) or oscar(due to first few months) or Sterling?
Upfront has to be Sturridge,Aguero or Suarez. Tough to choose between them

I put any money on it Gerrard will inexplicably be in it. One of Vidic or Ferdinand always seemed to be an automatic pick regardless of how well they actually played although would think this year sense will finally previal in that one. Having said that will be very surprised if Terry gets chosen irrespective of the fact hes been by far the best centre back this season.

Really is a farcical process when you think about it.

That season was so funny when it came to the team of the year.

How Drogba didn't win player of the year I'll never know - he was insane that season.

I think if you put the whole Chelsea back line and the keeper there, people couldn't really argue - it's not going to happen but it should. Azpilicueta will be beaten by Shaw (good youngster but not done anything special yet) and Baines (good free kicks but can't defend). Terry will not get votes because ... well ... he's John Terry. Hazard should get in too.

Silva, Aguero, Suarez, Yaya and Fernadinho should also be there.

It could go the way of just nominating all the mediocre English players like Johnson, Henderson, Wilshere, Rooney etc cos they're English and popular!

Henderson has been far from mediocre this season, and If Rooney was not Rooney people would be saying how good hes been. Hes been manchester utds best player by far and their only real perfomrer all season.

I agree that England players are Overated but Henderson who before this yearhasbeen poor and Rooney have been very good.

I think they should just do it on a season by season basis and have the voting at the end of the season.

The team of the year is actually for the season, I believe, so it's a bit stupid.

Nik, Milner got into the team of the year ahead of Malouda as well.

To be honest I think the team should be rightfully dominated by the Chelsea and City players. Saurez and Sturridge are the obvious exceptions. As for Rooney, hes been great, however he has not been exceptional.

I generally think, Chelsea have the best back four, City the best midfield and Liverpool the best forwards.

Chelsea players that should be in it imo are:

John Terry and Azi 100%
Cahill 90%
Cech 90%
Hazard 100%

I don't think Brana is the best RB though
