liverpool have started to use incentive based contracts, now im sure we are not the first club to do this but by offering a young player a deal where they can earn big money provided they reach certain targets ie games played and contribution to the first team is a great way to get the young player to sign but also protect the club if they dont develop as anticipated, they player can be sold on as if hes not done enough he wont be on the big wage.
Lol funny thing is this is probably true. 30k per week for what a couple of good pre season games.
Is it even Wengers job to decide players salaries? I doubt it very much
Where are these reports because i haven't seen anything?
I love how fans always think they know better than AW even when it comes to things that like youth development and transfrers. Of course with the benefit of use a couple of examples of him getting it wrong and conveniently forget that he gets it right more than any other club in the world.

Agree 100%
gets it right more then any other club in the world? Really, better then barca who won multiple cl and leagues with a team from their academy? Wengers done well enough but not a hope hes the best in the world, you could argue hes failed in that aspect recently
You shouldn't believe what you read, it will be unlikely that the details of a deal would be released for public knowledge.
30k pw? Really?
I find this very hard to believe. I'm not saying you're making it up, but where have you heard this?

Southampton certainly do something right as well, they ooze young talent!
yeah hes good but the hyperbole of best in the world is ridiculous for exampke what has a youth prospect who wenger signed won in years? To claim that somone is the best in the world you need to back it up, all wenger really has to show for it is consistent cl appearences and allot of rich teenagers. Like i said hes good but hes no master of it, plenty of managers have a similar record when you examine it.
I think where Wenger excels is in developing young players. But they've got to have 'it' in the first place to get it out of them.
he is good enough for that. If you didn't give it to him someone would have. Plus he will be on loan so you won't even be paying him.
£30,000 per week?! What a load of guff. No way would Wenger allow that wage to a complete unknown.
That had better be a stupid rumour. Else, the guy has become an insane waste of space - and resources. We're still dealing with his egalitarian wage policy lunacy today having offered the likes of Bendtner, Diaby, Djorou long-term, ridiculous value contracts and we've been unable to move them on.
Fabianski must be the only 2nd choice keeper in the league on £50k+ a week. Who the fack makes these moronic decisions?

It'd be brave man who'd argue about Barca's Academy, but if you think about it, it's always bee augmented by big money signings. The team that played City in CL last time out cost roughly £167mill to put together. Mascherano, Alves, Neymar, Sanchez...
Fantastic Academy, had the privilege of visting it myself a few years back, watching some trainign sessions, meeting some coaches etc, but it's an Academy that's backed up by some serious financial muscle.
I this he is the best in the world if u bother to take the context into consideration. It is easy to highlight the sort of success barca managed to achieve but barca have had much better foundations and operate in a much more conducive environment for youth development. After 17 years in charge we have a fantastic academy, we have the highest ratio of first team players developed at the club in the country contrast that with Man city who are now having problems with lack of home grown players!
This not to mention what he managed to achieve whilst completely relying on youth policy.
If it turns out to be true about zalalem's contract, I would be very excited because it means AW rates this guy higher than anyone else before
Still no link from the OP, he has been given contract with the club - not a "new contract" as such, but "first pro" contract. And no mention anywhere of the amount, £30k/week sounds unlikely. Sound's like shenanigans to me.

Just read on Twatter that the article might be from the Express. I'm digging it up.

Crikey. Reading about the "3 countries" in that article, the quick google I did earlier suggests the US assume him as theirs.
I thought he's gone on record and said he's pledged his allegiance to Germany?
That article is a load of BS. It says both parents are Ethopian, however only his father was born there. His mum is from Germany.
I guess the yanks assume everything is theirs until told otherwise.
what has wenger achieved based solely on youth policy? Hes bought plenty of players too.
