Well they haven't stated the true reason for the delay.

That's not honest in my book.

They just fobbed us off with more words.

Not sure that that's true KevT. Seem to remember reading somewhere that if the FL believe that someone in the background is actually pulling the strings then they will subject that person to the 'owners and directors' test as well.

But as I can't remember where I read it, I might have dreamt it!

How haven't they been honest, Stoopo?
Do you actually know the reason for the delay or are you, like the rest of us, merely speculating?

How many owners in Championship and PL have been dishonest in past, spent or unspent convictions.

It's part of life of the rich and famous that multi millionaires and billionaires try to find ways to not pay tax.

The way some are going on about it is way over top in my opinion.

Many groups, singers and actors try to find ways not to pay extra taxes, but i'm willing to bet people still listen to, and buy their CD's etc and, still watch the actors films and maybe buy the DVD's, I know I do.

Highland, you know I don't want gfh running Leeds.

But not wanting gfh running Leeds is not the same as wanting Cellino running Leeds.

You want a mythical as yet unnamed consortium to take over don't you Jonty...? You'll not be happy whoever takes over will you...?

Have you contacted the FL with your considered opposition to Massimo Cellino...?

I bet you have.

Radebe - if you don't think they are waiting for the trial result then you are living in a different world.

Stoopo, no one has said they're not, but they're not being dishonest about anything.

Ill explain again Jonty. Their statement mentions nothing about waiting for the trial yet 99% of people agree that they actually are waiting for that before they make a decision.

The fact that their statement is a wish wash of words that does not mention the trial and that it is the reason they are waiting is in my opinion dishonest.

That's the last word I will say on this. It's my opinion and I won't change it.

Is there some law that says they have to mention the trial that everybody and their dog already knows about?

Not expecting an answer as you said that would be your last word on this.

If the punishment for getting found guilty is a fine. He decides not to appeal and he pays it straight away. Is that conviction considered spent?

Don't think so milky, it's still a conviction.

convictions are generally considered spent after a certain period of time.

I Presumed so jonty. I thought there was some sliding scale depending on the severity of the sentence, but wasn't sure. Also wasn't sure if it applied to fines rather than jail or suspended sentences.

No chance he could just cough up and take over then!

Radebe.Who owned Leeds before Bates finally said he had bough it out?.And who owns Elland road stadium?.We can put names of businesses in there, but where are the individual peoples names.I remember having a discussion on these boards about if Leeds would be let in the premiership or not because Bates would not reveal who owned the club.

Milkyboy

It is on a sliding scale. It is governed by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. It depends on the severity of offence / punishment. It would be longer for a term of imprisonment than a fine or a community order just as murder is deemed more severe than say speeding...!

The big thing is this, if your conviction is spent that is exactly what it is. It will be assessed as such by anyone deliberating. You may not like that, but that is how it is.

It just seems to me that Jonty does not want Cellini to take over Leeds United. And is making as many arguments he can think of. is he an agent of the football League?

Well let's hope he gets the club and then Jonty can slip off and watch someone else...

That would cure it.
