A Liverpool fan lecturing everyone on what it takes to win a Premier League title.

That's like Gandhi teaching military strategy.

Why is that? Chelsea winning a Premier league is not your achievement. You're just some bloke. It's the players and staff.

Why would what football team someone follows allow more credence when giving their opinion?

Genuine question.

I doubt many people here are old enough to remember Liverpool's last title win in any detail.

Its a strange season for Liverpool from my perspective. I have a few scouse friends, and the way they speak, you would think they had won the treble.

In my opinion, considering the red hot form that sturridge and Suarez have been in this season... the fact the other teams competing have all had a gruelling champions league schedule, and they have continuously dropped points.

That Liverpool are sat third on goal difference would be a disappointment to me... taking United disastrous season into account, I would have thought top 4 was the bare minimum... I think this is your best chance in years to win the league.

I think too many of your fans are just looking at finishing above united as a massive triumph... when you should be questioning why you aren't sat top of the league at the moment.

Your comfortably have the best strike force in the league... with Chelsea being hopeless up top, and City's injuries, massive schedule so far.

There is no reason you shouldn't win it this season, except lack of experience on your managers/players parts are picking up points regularly.

Big test for you today.

Why should we be top of the league when the two billionaire clubs are above us. Nobody cares we're above United, they're seventh for crying out loud, they are battling with the other midtable clubs. We were expected to finish sixth, so to finish in the top four will be an achievement, league title or not.

It's funny, the likes of you laugh at our position when we're down, saying we're not good enough, when we get up, you laugh that we're up and say we should be further up.

Tool.

Ron....kind of agree actually. However you are massively underating the development of the team in about 18 months. Remember we finished last season in 7th....7th!!

Exactly the mentality I am talking about... oh the two clubs above us are billionaires therefore we shouldn't be winning the league, even though we have had comfortably the best strike force this season, and they have been dropping points consistently.

Good job Fergie didn't have that mentality when City and Chelsea got their billions or we wouldn't have won a title since 2003.

But you be ecstatic to finish top 4.

I'll be very happy with top four, it's a massive improvement and shows progress, which we can build on for next season. I hope you're happy going from first to midtable.

-------

I am not disagreeing with you... your team has developed very well. Suarez and Sturridge have both become consistently world class. But league titles aren't easy to win, and you need to take the chances when they're presented, you have a great chance this season due to various factors.

Its going to be a lot harder next season when you add another 12-13 European games into the mix- should grasp this opportunity.

Hardly, our season has been terrible. Your players and manager maybe have your attitude, top 4 is fine for this season, then build next season.

And then when United invest heavily in the summer, Chelsea get a world class striker.. and Arsenal finally splash out... coupled with an added load of games from the champions league. And you finish outside the top 4. You can say you at least finish top 4 for one season, right?

posted on 16/3/14

They're not choosing not to win the league. I'm unsure of your point.

posted on 16/3/14

Ron...agree on that too.Next season.....wow, if lfc finish top 4 then we will buy top quality, utd will buy no question on that, city...cfc...arsenal too will all buy and im guessing strikers will be the order ofvthe day.

Next season could be even more open than this season.

Ron Has some very valid points.
1.At the start of the season Both City and Chelsea Started very poor.

2.No champions league.

3. Best strike partnership in the league.

Is this the best chance we will have for along time?
We still have chance to win the league but maybe we should be top now by some margin.

Arsenal are in decline? yet we are level on points, Hopefully a good run will see us win the title, This is our best chance in/for years too come.
