About time a ref came out. But he only did so because he knows he's fecked and won't get another pl game for long time.
That's not really my point. Why is it necessary for him to apologise for sending off the wrong guy, but fine if he incorrectly awards a penalty and red card when it should have been nothing?
Because decisions like Rose are made week in week out. You don't see every ref coming out and apologising. However this is very rare and he obviously felt like he's done a very big blunder.

I would be falling on my sword for that shocker yesterday, not apologising.
The Lino can advise the ref but it's still the refs choice to give it. They both f'd up.
It's a worse blunder to give away a penalty and red card for a great tackle than to send off the wrong guy for blatant cheating...

It's not fine that he didn't apologise for the spurs incident, it's not even fine that he apologised for his screw up yesterday, he's clearly inept, makes poor snap decisions.
It wasn't a red card though, he didn't stop a goal or deny a goal scoring opportunity. So it should only be a yellow and a pen!
