If he wins the FA Cup (and they will) all will be forgotten.

It's going to take a few years to build up the side now that they have funds to build and don't have to sell their best players anymore

Arsenal supporters should blame the stadium / transition plan, not Wenger. He's done something no other manager could have done which is keep them relevant and in the CL through the purchase of a stadium on no funds at all (by 'big club' standards)

OP - The club goal was to just stay in the CL while trying to balance the books, but now they have money to spend. I'm surprised you don't already know this.

I think this excuse is not valid anymore. His sides get regularly beaten by the big boys now and he does nothing to change it. West Ham came with a specific plan and it worked. Arsene thought it's just like any other game.

and aside from Wenger, if the Arsenal players couldnt put in a performance for Wengers 1000th game that that's a disgrace

when supporters get frustrated, they look for a scapegoat

Wenger got the job

doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes, but all managers do.

Wenger is unsackable because he is a magician.

Mourinho and Guardiola combined would finish 14th with this Arsenal squad.

14th I tell you!

I think the fact he only got 1/6 points against United this year shows he's lost it

But Mr Chelsea the OPs question wasn't about these games but why over the 9 years he hasn't been sacked

I actually think Wenger gets a hard time of it. They play a nice brand of football, he promotes youth, has en eye for a bargain in the transfer market and seems to have a good bond with all of his players (Based on never hearing grumblings from ex-players).

They now have the money to build the team into something greater, I'd rather a fiscally responsible manager than someone who spanks out £27m on Fellaini and a rumoured £37m for a relative nobody (Carvalho). Arsenal will be a force in 2-3 years provided they buy well, City and Chelsea can't keep buying the league.

The Kaiser Trainer - it's not a problem making mistakes but a problem when you don't learn from them and make the same ones again and again

Even if he did have money he would spout it up the wall like he did with Ozil. £40m

I dont think Arsene will ever spend big. I think he's stubborn enough to try and want to win the league whilst spending the least and as he's got older, I think he's become more and more stubborn to try and achieve that. Fair play to him if he can eventually do it but I dont see it happening

I think Arsenal with a new manager would be a force to be reckoned with though. He'd definitely want to burn some of that money they've got piled up.

he made a mistake with his selection on saturday but with your injury problems in midfield i think he can be cut a bit of slack

I get the criticism and agree to some extent, but I think the 'real' cause is stadium related. Which gets boring to blame after years on end but doesn't mean it's not there.

He's had one year with the 'warchest' and it didn't go as planned with inbound transfers.

I think he definitely deserves another year with funds.

Arsenal fans,

A quick swap of Moyesie and Wenger? We'll even throw in Cleverley.

While it's tough to take these big defeats against rivals - I think over his 17 years at the club you can count these sorts of performances on one hand.

Yes, it shouldn't happen, but this season we are genuinely still competing at the top (just about!) after a while so things are starting to look on the up again.

Moyes will even buy Fellaini at an inflated price when gets to the Emirates. After all you were all crying at the lack of a DM on Saturday.

I personally think one of the many reasons Wenger dosent constantly buy big is the risk.

Chelsea,United,City and Liverpool have all spent large amounts on players in the past. Some have worked and some have been some right ol'duffers, but its the risk the club takes. With Wenger , and I believe the money has been there, will always go for the safer, cheaper option because generally there is less pressure involved for all concerned.
