While it's tough to take these big defeats against rivals - I think over his 17 years at the club you can count these sorts of performances on one hand.
Yes, it shouldn't happen, but this season we are genuinely still competing at the top (just about!) after a while so things are starting to look on the up again.

The Kaiser Trainer - it's not a problem making mistakes but a problem when you don't learn from them and make the same ones again and again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he made a mistake with his selection on saturday but with your injury problems in midfield i think he can be cut a bit of slack
-------
who didn't buy anyone in January, don't Arsenal always suffer from injuries, and isn't this the 3 or 4th time he's done the same mistake with tactics against the big teams?
Same old mistakes again and again
Liverpool took 6 points off Utd
Spurs took 4 points off Utd this season
West Brom took 3
Newcastle took 3
Everton took 3
Even Fulham put up more of a fight at OT than Arsenal
Wenger got only 1. Disgraceful
Decent buys in January are few and far between.
http://www.kickoff.com/news/41115/all-the-big-european-transfers-in-january
Berbatov, Zouma, Ince, Cabaye may have helped but any decent players available in January are usually nailed on for a certain club.
He's a Chairman's wet dream!
He deserves another season. We've made big strides this season (everyone had us dropping way out of the top 4 this season) but lack of quality cover has hit us hard.
Pace upfront is vital in the modern game and Cazorla, Giroud and Ozil are no Walcotts. Look at what pace is doing for Liverpools season. Hopefully next season Arsene will learn from the many disasters we've had this season and signs the players we need to take us to the next level.
Arsene is no longer bullet proof and next season will be a big one for him.

Exactly!
Admittedly, he hasn't done what us fans are expecting from him .
But in term of his job description and goals set by the club he has done rather well if not exceeded.
You have to ask yourself why Gazidis keep saying he'll sign a new contract.

Do Landawners have more fingers on their hands than other people?
Would you rather have had the occasional hammering this season or be sitting in 7th and virtually out of every competition?

That might be a fair defense if it wasn't clear to everyone that he hadn't strengthened sufficiently in the Summer.
As I commented somewhere yesterday, Wenger's teams seem pretty useless against any team that presses well, from Barcelona to Wigan under Roberto Martinez.
This specific problem is probably just an extension of setting up pretty much the same way, regardless of opposition, and Wenger's tactical inflexibility. We just never seem to plan for the opposition which is so bizarre given that Wenger is such a student of the game.

Spot on. But 95% of fans won't/don't care one iota about such things!
In the grand scheme of things, Arsenal have no right to even compete with the City's and Chelsea's, the landscape of the Premier League has changed so dramatically in the last 5/10 years!
Just look at the reigning Champions this season! A team who breezed the League less than a year ago is now struggling to get a Europa League place!
The fact is, as eluded to by other posters on this thread, this summer and going into next season, the old excuses for no competing (which where valid for the best part) will not be applicable.
A big and potentially exciting transition for Arsenal in the next year, but the club NEEDS to be bold and start behaving like a 'big club'.
God himself could not sack this wonderful man
There are a lot of similarites between Arsene and SAF.
Stubborness is one of them. And I think in both cases it is ego driven.
SAF has known for years that the CM needed fixing. he chose not to because he thought he could compensate just by being SAF.
Likewise Arsene has known for years that he needed to sort out the backbone of Arsenal. His great team was full of players who would die for the cause, nothing since that in the last 9 years.
All these great technical players he has bought have gone missing when the chips are down.
Even if he did have money he would spout it up the wall like he did with Ozil. £40m

That's because God is a Utd fan.....David Moyes is our penance.
How the feck can someone say that Arsenal have improved this season, the only reason they'll finish in the top 4 is because Fergie decided to call it quits. As for as the money issue which Arsenal fans love to bring up, what excuse will you make if Rodgers ends up winning the league.
Wenger has got to be the most overrated manager, his days as an elite manager were done ages ago. Never winning back to back league titles and never progressing beyond the quarter final stage of the CL with the 'Invincibles' just goes to show what a bottler he has always been.
"...never progressing beyond the quarter final stage of the CL..."
