Wouldn't touch either of them with a bargepole, having said that there isn't a huge amount of choice at the moment.
Malky would be head and shoulders the best candidate, proven recent record of managing in the championship with success and could have kept Cardiff clear we'll never know.
Karl Robinson would be a good shout but he would need a season, not sure Fawaz has that luxury.
Pearce was awful with the U21 squad and worse with City, a Forest legend should stay that way. As for Zola, that's fine of you want a bunch of overpaid Italians who haven't got the bottle when it comes to he crunch, otherwise forget it!
Malky will be sitting on a big pay off and signing for Forest would mean a losing that so why bother.
With the notable exception of “Pearce was awful”, how dare you! I agree with everything BlackStar says.
However we are seeking someone until the end of the season, so it would be a short term project with “motervation of the players” being a key factor.
The same players, to a large extent, that had such a great run are still there; I hope it’s not just me that has seen confidance/motervaion just drain away from the players, who better than Psycho to turn that side of things around?
Just a thought
It's not as simple as 'coast to the end of the season and look again in the summer' though, is it?
Fawaz has got big bucks invested in this season, and has a shedload of cash from his FFP fund now heading to Glasgow, and so is desperate to milk whatever he can from this season, and that means making a decent appointment.
His problem with that is that he's been properly made to grab his ankles by King Billy and is now reluctant to hand over total control to a stranger, so is placing caveats on teh role that accomplished managers just won't accept, and so you're in something of a predicament.
"Malky will be sitting on a big pay off and signing for Forest would mean a losing that so why bother."
Maybe he wants to continue his career? There was a time when an unemployed manager would jump at the chance of another job, now it seems too many of them wouldn't get out of bed unless it was for a PL club. I hope MM isn't one of these.

Full house each home game as well if Pearce is involved.
Crowd behind the team is like a 12th man if used to our advantage
Might be a quick, short term fix
Sky sources meanwhile say that Al Hasawi turned Warnock down because he wanted too much money, and was not the right man for Forest.
Yeah righto;

Can't see Pearce being happy with interference from the owner either?
Not Pearce, although I'd love to see him succeed in the job, I'd hate to see him abused by that section of "fans" that nothing is ever good enough for.
Whoever it is will do a bit of hesitating as FAH has declared his negotiating stance by many injudicious comments recently. How about "if we have to pay £30k a week, we will do so" And Jack Hobbs is not coming to Forest - until his wages and the fee are substantially hiked.
Even Warnock is not a closed book yet, depending on the re-action of other candidates. It's purely a Forest matter but I can't see Psycho doing the business.
Go for Son of Brian,he's doing a cracking job with the blades
Id take Clough look what hes done with the Blades taken them from the relegation zone to the brink of the playoffs and a good chance of an FA Cup final
To be fair, they've mostly had byes in the FA Cup
"To be fair, they've mostly had byes in the FA Cup"
Can't argue with that.
😏 That did raise a smile in these darkest of days, 666...
Not dark days at all ... I'm well happy
Things could work out much better than we thought after Saturdays drubbing.
Let's get behind Brazil tonight
The impression that I get is that Pearce doesn't trust Fawaz to let him manage the team without interference. That worries me as, if true, this is all only going to end one way.
Fawaz needs Football people around him and advising him and he needs to listen to that advice. The noises coming from people with Forest connections, such as DJ, seems to be that there is no footballing structure in place at the CG, just the Al Hasawi's and the manager. That can't be a healthy situation and clearly hasn't been for all of the managers that have been in charge at the CG since they brought the club. I am not anti-Al Hasawi but I am getting the feeling that this isn't the bottom of the trough yet...
Of course, I hope I am wrong and it is all the nasty media gathered around their cauldrons boiling up trouble.
They are dark days if even the Anti-Christ Warnock doesn't fancy the job. To sack a manager this late on in the season with the aim to still make the play offs, surely a plan should've been in place regarding who the replacement would be as time is very much against Forest if they want to make the top six.
Will .. that is down to Davies setting up a structure that only benefited himself.
McGovern will be the start of returning our famous club back to it's standing within the football community.
The news out of poopoo park was that Fawaz conducted himself in a manner that did not let our club down.
With the local media back on board we will now start to get the players and managers views again straight after the game.
The rattle man has picked his rattle up and boggered of back to Scotland
Good ridance!
As for Fawaz... let's not criticise him too much. He is aware he made an error and is looking to correct it. If people cannot work with him then he will keeping looking until he finds the right man.
This is our club and he knows that. He is bankrolling it and he only wants the best. The very best.
Let's not let the disgruntled pressmen ruin it.
I think Fawaz could do a whole lot worse than show a bit of humility and demonstrate he's putting Forest first by going cap in hand to Frank Clark.
It'd be a PR coup of massive proportions AND would help with the rest of the re-build.
Clarke is too old now for me. Been out of the game for decades. It would be like Derby bringing back Jim Smith.
I meant for the CEO role, caniggia; apologies for confusion as I've not been clear, but I meant to get some football people back into the club such that the manager isn't the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to opinions.
Steve Clarke - younger version of mighty frank
666.... I know Frank very well and your tongue in cheek remarks to either wind people up or agree will not work.
The guy was thrown out of the club (unfairly IMO) and probably had something to do with Davies. He was quite pally with Mark Arthur and although a great ambassador for the club wasn't treated with the respect he deserved.
McGovern is a start and hopefully he may attract former players to give help to restoring the mess that has been left behind by said dwarf
