Hoddle Now Favourite

Looking at the odds Fawaz appears to be going down the Sven Leicester route and looking for people with either zero recent championship experience or high profile has beens.

I think 666 made a decent point about Frank Clark! Get him in for the rest of the season and steady the ship. Surely a better alternative than a Hoddle or Zola or some other coach type person, a good old football manager is needed

Old being the operative word.

Short term to give us a jolt and secure a play off place need a big personality. Hoddle more a philosophy manager therefore would need time to get his methods across. I've got a feeling Brazil might just get a few results though. This would maybe give him a chance until the end of the season. Three out of the next four winnable home games.

What's the point of good old. Better we start right now so someone sorts it out, gets in a full pre-season next then is ready for the new campaign - Steve Clarke for me.

Hope to Hoddles God it isn't Hoddle

Hoddle was a very good England manager but he was rubbish at Wolves and hasn't managed for such a long time. I don't think he's the answer.

I don't fancy the Sporting Lisbon guy. The championship is such a unique division it might take an overseas coach a while to get his head round it.

I'm not certain Fawaz is looking short-term, but he certainly hasn't given up on securing promotion this season yet and that's where the difficulty lies, I would imagine.

Anyone who comes in would want an assurance that, if they secured promotion, they'd get a crack at the Premier League. Nobody worth their salt is going to come in for the remaining fixtures and then walk away to let someone else take that opportunity, but as play-offs are no longer even in your own control then what does Fawaz do? If he gets a big name in and they fail to get promotion then he's stuck with an expensive manager in the Championship, but if he succeeds then it's a longer-term appointment and that's a whole different ball game to just grabbing a manager to steer you through the next few weeks.

Surely he and/or Irene Drury would know already

First time Ray Parlour met Ilene Drury apparently she placed her hands on his shoulder and asked him what she could for him. Apparently Ray Parlour asked for a 'short back and sides'. I don't think Hoddle picked him again.

dont this fool believe that disabled people are paying for sins in a prevlous life, and closed areas for disabled at grounds where he has been.

Fawaz needs to avoid the path Mandaric trod at Leicester, appointing high profile names with international experience who don't know the championship from their ar.se.

It's a really tough situation, he has gambled with Billy and spent millions on the basis that promotion will pay for it. Trouble is no manager can guarantee him that, he would be best to take his FFP medicine next season and build for the future with a Karl Robinson or Malky Mackay, but if he wants short term success at this stage of the season he will need someone who has done it before.

Course he didn't close the disabled areas at grounds, do you really believe that?

He express some different views on te origin of disability though.

To be honest I am not sure his views are any more far fetched or strange that those of a lot of different religions. Though that's a debate for a different arena entirely.

The next manager needs championship experience, especially of he is going to be given less than a season. No point goin for Pearce or anyone like that when there is no evidence they can get is promoted in their first season. That's why I could actually understand Fawaz going for Warnock, at least he knows how to get promotion in this league.

Not many managers with recent experience of promotion hanging around though! Especially ones willing to be sacked after a yeat!
