Evidently Clarke is on gardening leave from WBA so that would need to be sorted before he's a realistic target. I guess stuff like this has always gone on but with our targets in the open, plus people discussing on-line through various means you just see it more

Either he's been scared off by the spurious stories of Fawaz interfering, or, more likely, he's been a PL manager for 3 weeks and now considers himself above the Championship.

We don't want any manager that puts his own ego above the job... EVER AGAIN. Or his wallet for that matter.

......or he has legal action coming up with his former employer and needs to either settle that or potentially walk away from a size-able payout to take another job.

Since when does legal action stop you taking on a new job?

He hasn't reached a severance with his former employer, without that I don't believe he is able to take another job. NLN was nearly out of the running for the Sheffield United job at one point but agreed a settlement with Derby, and was able to then take it. MM's scenario is beyond that because he's taking his former employers to court

The sacked manager looks to get the remaining balance of his contract paid up: if he's taken another job, that shows the sacking hasn't impacted his ability to earn and therefore the figure is reduced.

That's why RDM is sitting at home drawing a Chelsea managers salary rather than looking for work: Abramovich won't pay up in a lump sum so he's getting his wages one month at a time.

Yep.....there is a good chance that Billy's editing suite will be gathering dust until at least the summer of 2017
