Neither really gets the juices flowing. Several defenders and at least a young keeper is still desired
vertonghen..would be a great addition and he has already said he wants CL football. can see agger being sacrificed in the summer for vertonghen.
left back will hopefully be another position we sort....cant see us spending big on shaw, so possibly moreno.
great thing is, for once, we are talking about small numbers of quality additions to improve us rather than wholesale changes.
think we will sign a few players but a lot will be trading squad players like aspas for more useful squad players
Can't say I've seen a great deal of Caulker but what I have hasn't impressed me much.
Seems quite slow and ponderous at times. Not an upgrade on what we have.
Like I say, I haven't seen a lot of him but he certainly didn't catch the eye last week.
Vertonghen is a good player but too similar in style to Agger and Sakho, we don't need another left footed CB, priorities in other areas.
Spurs won't sell to us anyway, same way we didn't entertain Arsenal bids last summer

Spurs will sell to anyone that flashes a bit of ankle at them
Both rubbish players at very poor clubs.

Vertonghen?
Do me a favour, we want players that want to play for the club. Not bellènds that up and leave because they've been twáted 5-0 at home!
Spurs defender????????
No thanks, I'd rather take my chances with our under 16's team centre half!!!!!
Being Belgian myself, I can only wish Vertonghen never ever even contemplates to think he's even worthy a mention to be asked to join Liverpool. Arrogance and mediocrity don't make a good match. Let alone a whiff of a good match.

Verts is overrated as a defender. He believes his own hype and must have a good agent as he is consistently being linked to Barcelona, god knows why they would want him.
Caulker has potential, but I don't think we really need a centre half with potential.
If we are buying a new partner for Sakho/Agger it needs to be someone who is ready to play now and play well, not someone who might be top class in 3-4 years.

Both aren't good enough for a CL side.
Caulker is an ok player but I don't think he can improve us much. I'm hoping we raid Dortmund for either Hummels or Subotic. And Bender. And Mkhitaryan haha

Vertwrongun has that mid table laissez-faire attitude of a typical Tottspurt.
He lacks the mentality to play at a big club.

Skrtel Sakho would be a good partnership next year in my opinion with a proper left back and a proper right back if Johnson can't get his act together.
I'd put a big bid in for Shaw personally.
Liverpool’s season has been all about goals, if you can make your self hard to score against next season then you’ll have some team. As it is Liverpool have conceded as many league goals as Crystal Palace one place outside the relegation zone, not sure why you’d be looking to tighten things up with a player part of a shoddy defence even worse than Palace’s! He’s got decent technique but he’s not a fighter.
Vertonghen was good but I think his performances have dropped this season. Therefore, in the right environment, he could get back to being a top defender. He is also bigger than people think. Caulker is good too. Up to Brendan.

So who is the player we want?
