Hoddle has some great football ideas and tactically is no fool but..........................................................

Firstly he struggles with players who are nowhere near as good as he was and expects to much from them.

Secondly he likes to play a certain way and obviously you need certain players to do that.

As England boss he could pick the players to suit his system but appears incapable of adapting a system to suit players he is stuck with.

Thats why I would not have wanted him as manager personally

Players are making too many mistakes - are they focussed?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are they even prepared properly. I would question that as Tim regularly ranted at players in the first 5 minutes of a game. If they were prepared properly and focussed that would not be necessary
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. He also stated before the match he wanted us to impose ourselves later on in the match. That can only have rubbed off on the players; that the beginning/earlier parts of the match weren't as important as the latter part.

Firstly I am not sure I would have sacked AVB without having a replacement in line.

If I needed one, damn thats a tough question, I would possibly have chanced my arm and tried to ask SAF to do it for 6 months.

He would have said no of course but let me think on that its not a question I can answer offhand as I cant think who would have been available

What about as Academy head coach (my preference) ??

Yes his press conferences instantly show his lack of experience and lack of common damned sense.

Hiw whole demeanour and attitude to the press shows exactly why he will never ever be a top manager.

He had one option yesterday and only one IMO. Go right at them from the start, get in their faces, press the ball like hell and not let them settle.

They were desperate to win obviously and nerves and panic would have set in had we have played 30 minutes and not conceeded.

Instead we play into their hands, gift them a goal in 2 minutes then they relax and slaughter us.

Bad tactics, bad preparation.

You have to ask you how teams like Sunderland and Cardiff give them a far harder game than we did when we have far better players.

To me its damned obvious that Tim does not have a clue

The guy needs time and a proper summer to sort out who to bring in and who to take out.

That doesn't sound very clever to me

It's all about the belief the players have. Our players don't believe they can win these games under Sherwood, and that's reflective of Tim's attitude. If he's admitting that we're going to do nothing for the first 2 thirds of the match and then try doing our stuff, players are going to expect defeat and not have the belief.

A bit clueless

Mind you it would be worse to be TOTALLY clueless and to write an article suggesting Tim should stay

Yep how dreadful my photographic memory let me down and I cant recall exactly who was available as a manager 3 months ago.

Damn I really will have to sort my act out

Does anyone really believe Levy and Co would give Sherwood a say in players in/out this summer? I personally couldn't think of a worse scenario. Well I could but I don't want to go over old ground again. Also, who really thought all 7 players we bought follow Bale was going to come good in their first season in the prem? They deserve a bit of time, not Sherwood. I accept he is well meaning and wants Spurs to do well but that isn't enough. He's a dead man walking and hopefully, out of WHL, onto the A406, M25 and M4 and stop at Swindon. He might actually be successful where heart is a primary factor in winning games, but not where any tactical sense is called for

Wow grandspurs it seems like you have some fans on this forum but to be honest all you do is be rude to people that have a different opinion to yourself.

I don't know whether others think it is cool but to be honest no one else has abused me so in my experience on this forum you are easily the biggest nobjockey on here

I have seen hoddle quite a bit recently and something that sticks in my mind is how futuristic he is. He is aware of the next in fashion formation 5 years before it happens.

His problem is he is too clever for footballers he expects it to be taken onboard straight away but has not got the personality to get that across. In comparison mourinho has the personality to get intense tactics across to the players and they adapt.

I dont think sherwood has the ability or desire to be a head coach. I feel sorry for him.
