of course it was dream. you think Toni Kroos will come to Manchester United with our current management. They will have him lumping balls in no time.

You're right btw, he gave a masterclass v arsenal, no way would bayern let him go

How about a centre back. Personally do not think what we have is good enough.

Arteta is a better version of Cleverly. Take him for free.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleverley isnt really a DM
Why are people mentioning Coleman?
Why would Everton sell him to us for anything less than silly money?
Coleman will be staying put.
I like Coleman but I don't think either he or Rafael would be happy being 2nd choice. I'd be happy just getting in a good RB as cover. I don't know who exactly but I'm sure for around £5-7m you could get a very good back up in the European leagues.
Why are people mentioning Coleman?
...........................
Because rafa, despite his talent is a liability, and Everton might be having a good season but they're still Everton
I'm losing patience with Rafael tbh. The guy gives away too many rash fouls in some very dangerous areas (before people say it, funnily enough I didn't really blame him for Saturday - that was on Young) and Rafael also has too many niggly injuries.
Someone on here said Rafael has cramp problems?
Would anyone on here really be annoyed if we brought in Coleman? Or a top RB?
I don't think we need Coleman, I love Rafael, but I have heard Moyes is looking at him.
I do think we'll need a CB too, scholayScholes. Wasn't there talk about us being interested in Dante, a few months back?
Didn't Moyes play Coleman at RM a lot? I know last season he was more if a full back but I seem to remember him playing further forward a lot of the time.
Anyway , I rate him higher than Rafael but I don't think it's a position we need to sign a first teamer.
Priorities are;
LB
CB
CMx2
RW/ LW
Then a right back.
Is that Varela chap any good?
Rob
No, but considering all the problems we need fixing at the moment I don't think getting a new 1st choice RB is one of our biggest priorities.
Yes Raf has been poor this season but so to has pretty much everyone else. He clearly has it in him to be our RB for the foreseeable future.
Far more pressing issues to sort out IMO.
I think people are being harsh on Rafael, yes he has been rash over the last 2/3 weeks, but this is something he irradiated from his game for the last 18 months.
He is a highly temperamental lad and he is clearly frustrated with the goings on at OT. One thing I'll give him credit for is the fact he gives a toss, unlike half f the squad.
People wouldn't turn down the likes of Ramos, Alaba, Alves, Marcelo, yet beat Rafael with the 'he's too rash' stick. Hypocrites at best.
Mæstro
Dante signed a new contract recently, but I do agree we need another CB. I still think 2 CMs and a LB are the very top priorities this summer with a winger, CB and RB less so.
Would anyone on here really be annoyed if we brought in Coleman? Or a top RB?
---------------------------
is coleman really 30 million quid better than rafael??
because thats what it would cost us to sign him.
I'd say absolutely not.
£30m?!?!
Where the hell have you come up with that fee?
Dante is pretty poor tbh. Dunno how he gets in the Bayern team.
A top CB is up there for me. We can't rely on Smalling IMO and Evans is not quite good enough. Jones is good but still has his moments.
Ideally it would be one of those 3 next to a top CB like Benatia or Mangala.

I kind of agree, but a cb and winger are far higher up the list than a rb.
We have Jones and Smalling who can 'do a job' at rb, but Valencia, Young and Nani can't do a job 9/10 times. As for the centre back position, i don't see us winning a league title until we get a ready made centre half. Jones, Evans and Smalling are all too inexperienced ir frankly not good enough.
plus, out of the entire utd squad, i'd say only Rafael, Rooney and De Gea could honestly say they've given 100% in every game.
yes he is rash, but unlike many other players in the current squad, its because he is a born winner.
manutd1982,
do you honestly think that Everton would sell him to us for much less than that given his contract length and age.
If utd wanted coleman they would have to pay as much, if not more for him than they would for Shaw.

Agreed, just trying to simplify the importance into 2 categories.

Because Dante is the man who stops teams finding an outlet. In the air he is a beast and one on one he is rarely beaten. Granted when it's backs to the ball he makes mistakes, but Bayern aren't under that kind if pressure enough to worry about that.
I agree with the rest if the post, although Mangala seems highly over rated from what I've seen. Kurtz Zouma and Rafael Varane are the two main talents in Europe for me, Chelsea have just snapped one up.
there has been talk in the press of a move for Boetang ( i hope he'd be better than he feckin was for city)

I've honestly never heard that claim! Everytime I watch him he always looks like he has a mistake in him. He is not someone I want at United. And i'm not the only one to say that.
