sounds like he really want Van Gaal in after his recent comments about not needing a complete squad overhaul

From the article...

"we anticipate going out to tender for construction late this year which will make a stadium opening date of Summer 2017 feasible".

We've got more chance of finishing 4th than the stadium opening in 2017.

Lol are they crazy. How on earth is the stadium going to open in 3 years when construction hasnt even started!?

I know nothing about building stadiums tho. Wembley took about 6years didnt it? How long did the emirates take?

(I can't wait for the new stadium but just feels like the same old mañana to me).

It only says 'plans for a new stadium are scheduled for 2017'.....Does that mean we're planning for it to be ready in 2017? Or for construction to start in 2017? Or we hope to have a plan of some sort by 2017?

I think it's time to accept, that maybe my grandkids will be the first to see Tottenham's new stadium. (My daughter is 3 years old by the way...)

philspurs - No it explicitly says opening 2017...

'It is a major development that will present ongoing challenges and subject to these challenges being manageable we anticipate going out to tender for construction late this year which will make a stadium opening date of Summer 2017 feasible.'

ah ok streatham, that's a bit better, I was worried he was being intentionally ambiguous but that sounds relatively promising....

Granted its seems far fetched at the moment (time wise), and being spurs fans I'm sure we'll all be skeptical until we're sitting in it watching a game!

What it does do is give us a date(kinda, end of this year) where people will start asking questions again and spurs know they'll be expected to come up with some answers.

I guess if it was a complete fob off, they wouldn't even given us that!

Start date is "feasible" . <you have been fobbed off>

I agree with everything he says.

Do I think he will deliver? No.

I did say it not being a complete 'fob off', implying that it was in the most part a 'fob off'.

My point is that by giving us some sort of timescale for going out to tender they'll then be at least answerable to why that hasn't happened come end of this year.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy says this season's performances and results "have not lived up to expectation"

Biggest understatement ever!

"Apparently they are waiting on compulsory purchasing approval from the government with regard to the stadium."

Haringey council did that a while back (those residential properties that will have to go) , no ??

The timescale for completion was summer 2016.
Not happening. And the board haven't been answerable to anyone on why this is so.

The delay fob off will be "Due to delays with the last remaining business / tenant / listed property..." blah or "Due to restructuring of .... the stadium design has been re-tendered...blah"

Year after year of reasonable sounding delays that kick the can along the road. JUST BUILD THE FAKKING THING!

The 'Levy does not put money into the club' mob also better re-prioritise their reasons for wanting him out.

Coincidentally 2017 is also the next time we'll hear from Levy. Look forward to hearing what he says in 3 years time.
