You seem to think scoring the most goals determines the best strikers. The best way to determine who is the better player is to look at the opinion of the experts of the game so of course it's relevant. They decided Suarez was better than RVP that season.

Are these the same 'experts' that use phrases such as 'entitled to go down', or the same experts that appear on MotD? Are these experts Garth Crooks? I completely disregard opinions when trying to determine whether or not someone was a better striker - because they're generally all bias one way or the other.

The best method of determining the best striker is probably points earned per goal/game. I.E how many of the strikers goals directly earned the points for their team. Since I don't know if any such table exists, I'll have to make do with the amount they scored, and assume that translated in to the most points.

The best player in general, was Bale. The best striker was RvP.

Saying that they were 'better' than Suarez, does someone diminish his clear importance for Liverpool. I don't think anyone is trying to make it out as those 2 had a massive difference with Suarez.

I was joking.

The point I was initially making is that I don't really care whether or not Rooney is world class. It should be quite a simple step to work out why I said what I did about rather having a team of very good players that win trophies than a few world class players that win nothing.
