Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't this so called obsession with top four stemmed from Wenger and his top four trophy?

not really because pretty much everyone laughed when Wenger said top 4 is like a trophy. it comes from the media and Sky being obsessed with the race for the top 4 in the last few years and building it up so much.
