Me he's in the bracket below those two with players such as Suarez, Ibra and ilk
Probably agree with you tbf Stretty. Cannot relate to him on his point, as I'm not African, but I've never considered a player "lesser" because if where they're from. Cameroon, England, Ivory Coast or wherever. I do get the feeling he's overstating the abilities of himself, Drogba and Eto'o, but huge self confidence is a major part of why these people got to where they are, and got as good as they did.
Why didn't you tag the city board as well? They'd have had some interesting opinions, he is there player and undoubtably great. Should have tried to get some of their views too.
Can't edit number of tagged teams, they'll find there way here anyway.
George Weah was probably the only player Africa have produced that is elite level. The rest have been outstanding club player's of which Yaya fits into.

George weah was vastly overrated, he definitely got that wpoty not on merit.
Etoo in his prime was far better in my opinion. Toure is definitely better.
Kash
From what I can remember, Weah was great, but I wouldn't have bracketed him higher than Drogba + Eto'o have been in their pomp. Would have put his ballon d'or down to timing as much as his ability, but my memory might be doing him a disservice.
Not that I agree at all with what Stretty just said though. Weah was a world class striker.

96 - 36 -15
97 - 35-16
98- 32- 13
Games to goal. For this world class striker.
Im from South Africa but never heard of Weah before from what country is he & which club did he play for.

i read his comments and immediately thought, "helmet"
He gets so much praise and recognition what more do you want ? everyone praises him all the time and rival fans all want him in their side.
seems a bit self obsessed now in my view though

He's certainly one of the most praised players in the pl.
What have people close to him been telling him?
I genuinely think he's at an advantage being African. Second only behind English in how highly they're rated (or in some cases overrated) in the Prem.

He is upset that he was booed when he won the african player of the year award when it was held in Nigeria.
The award was for performances last season and Nigerians wanted Mikel to win it for his performances in the Nations cup when Nigeria with Mikel in midfield dominated him and the ivory coast and is lashing out.
Poor baby
Toure is a fantastic player but there's nobody in the same bracket as Suarez, Messi and Ronaldo.
What a ridiculous thing to say. Hate people like that, using the race card as a reason as to why he is under valued.
No Yaya it us simply because you are not as good as the likes of messi, ronaldo etc.
You aren't even on the same level as the likes of xavi, iniesta etc who ran rings round you in both legs of the CL tie. For me he us very good but overrated, when he is good he is unstoppable but many times he has been abysmal as well.

Suarez isn't in that bracket chap. But he's a level above toure I will concede that.
Hasn't he out scored Messi and Ronaldo this season in league terms?
Could well be wrong. Also plays in a tougher league. He'd score far more in La Liga.

Tougher league? BS. There is some
Absolute dross in the pl at the moment. You can push your pro Suarez agenda all you want but that's bs.
The other 2 have been doing it for nearly a decades peice now. Let's see how Suarez fairs in the champions league when he has to play a few more games. If he proves himself there and maintains his league form then fair enough, no qualms with considering him with those 2. But he's gotta prove it at that level first.
Fair enough stretty I can certainly see where you're coming from.
