Mate pay 'em no mind. Moving goalposts all season
First it was you'll finish midtable
Then it was you won't get Champions League
Then it was you'll get dicked in the qualifiers
Then it was you won't win the league, City will beat you
Then it was you won't beat Chelsea, Mous a master at these big games
Now I'm seeing loads of congratulatory threads being posted about us winning league.
Call me a cynic, but I'm thinking they're being disingenuous, no doubt if we fail to win the league they'll still see our season as a LAL season because "we'll never have a better chance", as if after this year we're never gonna be anywhere near the top again, like we'll suddenly just stop progressing.
Just enjoy being where we are, playing the best football in the league, having a likeable, passionate and tactical wizard as a manager, being actual honest to God title challengers and generally just being great. It's been a long time since I've felt this positive, not since Istanbul. A less intense, more prolonged high if you will.
José
I was 14 when we won the CL so this is by far and away the best season that I've had as a Liverpool fan.
Given up trying to predict what will happen but it's so nice going into games bricking it because of what's at stake not because we're crap.
Liverpool are back.

Understand you're excitement but you don't have to attention seek to show us.
That a nasty feeling that Chelsea will win it.
You did write that...right?
Yeah I did.
Watching them before the Sunderland goal I just got a nagging feeling. You should be happy - every single time I have that feeling this season I'm wrong.
It's great to be stupid!!
Just ignore it OP. Watching us play this season has filled me with immense pride not only due to the results but the general behaviour of our players and managers which is in stark contrast to what was seen today by Mourinho.
Footballers and managers are not saints: we all accept that but Brendan Rodgers remains a calm and reassuring presence on the touchline even when things aren't going our way. He never screams or abuses officials or players even when things aren't going his way which in such a pressure environment to keep a lid on his emotions is remarkable. Yes his questioning of a greater Manchester referee for the clash against City was uncalled for but in two seasons it is probably the only time he has criticised any refereeing performance and even that wasn't done through a rant. For me he is genuinely a very likeable guy and comes across as a classy bloke
We're also top of the fair play rankings and there are not many points in the season where our players have surrounded the referee either which you don't want to see. Now we've had our fair share of lucky decisions like every team in the league but also had a lot go against us. If opposing fans can't see that we deserve to be top and we have a really top bloke at the helm then so be it. Let's just make it 11 wins tomorrow and get that league title.
I told you, you were a couple of years ago.
Hence the filter...that or that you hated the French full......
Hope you win it .fred

"and the astonishingly bad decision today."
What astonishingly bad decision?

only astonishingly bad decision today was rameres not being sent off.
You mean the clear foul on Altidore, where the defender slides in from behind, gets nothing on the ball, and clears out the standing leg of the attacker?
Absolute stonewall penalty, it's not even debatable.
Ramires' should have been sent off for a clearly intentional backhand into the face of a Sunderland player Chelsea if anything were the lucky ones with the refereeing decisions today.

It was a clear penalty. How wasn't it a penalty?
To be fair we've seen softer penalties awarded this season. Mourinho is just deflecting attention from a pretty poor performance and that his amazing home record had come to an end.
Plus to be fair to Mike Dean it was the linesman who flagged for the penalty.

Azpilicueta gets nothing on the ball, Altidore is balancing on his left standing leg which he places on the ground, Azplicueta sweeps his standing leg away.
Clear as day penalty.
Chelsea should have been down to ten men ages before this anyway, so even if you are being the most blinkered you could say the referee "evened it up" per se. Absolute stonewall, the pundits on Sky and MOTD both agreed.

I completely disagree but we leave it at that, as this is going nowhere. By the way the linesman gave the penalty as well, so don't take your anger out entirely on the referee.

Maureen now complaining about decisions of referees with other title contenders. What a joke of a man. He has lost it and media are finally turning on him.
This is like when he was blaming the entire ruling bidy that barca was getting pref treatment because of their unicef sponsorship.
His boring park the bus footy has been found out.
Just glad no one from our club acted in such a disgusting way at the bridge after we were denied a clear penalty
