Friend of mine found a spider the size of 'a small football' on the lid of the bin. It could have probably eaten him.

Oh they are big, but they aren't the dangerous ones. I worked in the daintree rainforest for a couple of months and woke up to a golden orb on my balcony every day. The webs are like plucking a guitar string lol.
