when are the play offs Darn ?

'fax playing at home first could be to their advantage..get a goal up and let Cambridge sweat it out at home...

Top article Darn

Grimsby have the upper hand against Gateshead with a 2-2 draw at home and a 2-1 victory away. Their recent form when looking at the manner of results hasn't been great. Defeat to Town, followed by a 3-3 against Alfreton, then only managing to beat Hyde 1-0 at home and finally, finishing off with a 0-0. So a team that struggles for goals (and the lowest scorers in the playoffs. Fancy Gateshead to progress in this one.

Will the Shaymen blow Cambridge away, or will United employ Chelsea like tactics in the big games and reproduce their impressive defensive record that they showed earlier in the season. Despite a stuttering end to the season they still finished with the joint best defence. Going for a draw in the first leg, with an inspired display seeing Town progress in Extra Time on Sunday

Thanks Ken..

YOU !
will you be at the game live. or watching Chelsea v Athletico ?
I fancy Gateshead to overcome Grimsby too.
The Shaymen ! too nervous to call this one

Watch it on BT hopefully, might get lost going to the Shay having not been for 3 years Although, train from Leeds just after 6, getting into Halifax for around 6:45, it sure is tempting to go.

FCHT will be standing behind the goal, expect it to be full to capacity in there

Apologies Ken...& who ever else joins in !

I am having to take this thing in & seek help, as I am having untold problems with it . Way beyond my capabilities

unfortunately it will be out of my hands for a few 'days' ()
So i'll say it now.
Good luck Shaymen, & to all the fans.
Fingers crossed you make the final.
(hope to be back on line sooner rather than later )

'Lifeline' !

Still here mate. 'he can't look at it just yet' ???

So.
just read the courier..
Peter 'Jacko' Jackson, & Bobby Ham endorsing Aspin's appeal for raucous support!
Rock on.

I thought Ham's appeal for the fringe support from the local sides fans was commendable.
So....
How about you & me do our bit Ken ?
I'll post on the Town board. & if you post on the LUFC side. lets see who intend to turn out for the SHAYMEN, or who might patronize the match thread

fantastic achievement by the local side of part timers.

45 to go.

Who's there 'live' then ?

posted on 30/4/14

Just seen this from Cambridge United boss
Richard Money !

"Going to Halifax, we've ended up with the real cauldron of the semi-finals. We have to go and handle it." ....!

Is this the reputation and expectation when sides in the conference come to play at the Shay..?
With a bigger crowd than is normal expected. Could we witness a local parochial crowd in full voice !

'COME ON TOWN'

Good stuff! I've just won £17 betting that Chelsea would lose 1-3. so a good night all round.

Marvelous.

result.....not sure about the application,
Although both sides were a bit frantic at times.

I suppose the Cambridge captain was trying to be positive at the end there with "I don't know what they are getting so excited about..it's only half time"....

er.....Now Halifax only need a draw as opposed to having to win away from home.
Still an uphill task, but not as steep as it could have been.

I'd start with the Gregory/Spencer partnership on Sunday..that will split the compact Cambridge defense from the off.

that said.
Good job Coulson blasted over the bar right at the death.

4 king Weather .... And folk wonder why I moved away

good evening Walt

R Money Lost it big time didn't he....
It's like i said earlier, You can't lose 4 games on the bounce & just expect to turn on the style at will..

It will be a very tight, tough game for Halifax on Sunday,
But I like there commitment .. and a draw will do !
If they have to now open up and come onto Halifax..maybe, just maybe the Gregory/Spencer pairing can find the space they need to find the back of the Cam United net.

here's hoping
