So you think Flanno isn't good enough, but Johnson is?

Completely disagree. Flanno has done enough to be our first choice right back for me next season.

Baines and Coleman are terrible.

I hear a young lad by the name of Hibbert could be open for a move ?

I have seen Fannagan play once at Goodison and he had a cracking game....local lad done well. If he plays at 70-80% of the level he showed that day then you have a good player

Flanno has been brilliant. I dont think he has the ability to beat his mum and put in a cross when the situation warrants it. Johnson on the other hand has been off form for most of the reason. His decision making has been awful - cutting in at the wrong time, dribbling & losing the ball, poor crosses etc - but he can address these worries next year hopefully.

diame skinned flanno many many times when we played west ham at home and he was ball watching for the second goal against palace. the guy aint good enough. johnson hasn't been good enough but we know he has the capability to do better. at 29 he can still reach this level

Dunno about one day, Wisdom couldn't look any shakier than any of our current centre halves do at the moment.

Give him a shot there pre season I say.

also when you spend 7m on a player you expect to see him somewhere near the first team. if we're gonna pay the money for illori, you have to justify that and use him. don't want another coates

I'd love Coleman at Liverpool

Based on what can Johnson do better? He's been off form for the better part of 2 years now. It's not even that his touch has deserted him, he just straight up doesn't look interested anymore.

And if we're looking at individual performances, I see your flano vs Diame and raise you Johnson vs Bolasie.

We don't need our fullbacks to be brilliant offensively imo. So long as they overlap and give us the option, that's good enough. We score goals. Clearly what we need is defenders who can defend.

Flanagan will improve the attacking side of his game. Remember he has been playing left back which is not natural to him.

As a right back he will be on his favoured side and his passing is excellent.

I agree that the full back positions definitely need looking at, but Flanagan has been miles better than Johnson this season. Johnson is 30 in August and is a player who picks up regular muscle injuries too.

The problem will be getting him to leave. Nobody is going to pay him what we are currently paying him, and with one year on his contract he can just sit it out and get a nice signing on fee at his next club. I don't blame him for that. He might be another player we need to pay off to get him to leave, if we choose to.

Otherwise we keep him around the squad for his experience but give Flanagan and Wisdom a chance to make the position their own.

Left back is a higher priority than right back because we have no quality option to replace Enrique.

Trippier is a very good player Rap

Not sure he is top class though, and he isn't that young, 24 in September.

Be interesting to see how he does in the Prem next season.

johnson was outstanding for the first part of the season. no arguments one of our best players. i agree he's not good enough but to get two players who are genuine top quality full backs you have to pay top dollar. i'd settle for johnson if other options are not available or unaffordable

Zabaleta cost City about £6m.

Its not always about big money, just getting the right player and letting them improve.

I don't really remember Johnson being outstanding this season at any point really. No goals, only 3 assists, is pretty poor for a full back who is supposed to be good at attacking, in a very attacking team.

He was decent in the first part of the season but hasn't been outstanding since the first few months of last season.

For Right Back i'd take Micah Richards, i believe Rogers can turn his fortunes around just as he did with Coutinho and Sturridge, at hes best he was an England International and for a brief period a starter for Man City, as well as being Versatile.

As for left back, i'd love Luke Shaw but for the price being touted is too much, alternatively i'd take Fabio Coentrai, who would suit Liverpools style of play and much cheaper than Shaw.
