Him missing Brazill will only do him good.

Wilshere not going only benefits us, don't give a toss how he feels about it, needs to focus on what matters and that is his club

He can learn from this.

Not going in for silly challenges in pointless friendlies will be the first thing.

I've said all along it'll be best for him not to be included in the squad. I feel bad for him if it's true, but them's the facts.

Apparently the report that he has been left out is a spoof. Article fail

Daily Mail saying him and Ox have both been picked. In that case I am happy for him but I wish Roy would man up and do the right thing, he shouldn't be going.

It has been widely known for quite a while that Roy always intended on bringing Wilshere and the Ox to Brazil whether they were fully fit or not.

I don't think either should be going, due to being injured in recent months, but Roy obviously has his heart set on ruining these boys careers by picking them even when they clearly need the summer off to recover.

I would prefer for Sterling, Lallana, Henderson et al. to go and when we inevitably get shown up by Italy, Uruguay and even Costa Rica they can bear the brunt of the disappointment.

I am going to be controversial and say Baines is really overrated and shouldn't be going.

I just don't think he is anywhere as good as he has been made out to be.

I'm all for Roy phasing out the 'golden generation' but Cashley has always been a top performer for England. He is reliable and should be on the plane instead of Baines.

The irony is that Lampard who is another bit part player for Chelsea looks likely to be picked ahead of competition who would actually offer more than him.

I was just about to say how can England's brightest talent be left out. I hope he's left out, but I fear he's going to end up injury prone like Rooney.

I got the call from Roy and agree England team should be about the young players. I think it best I retire from England team now. 😒😒

We have a great manager and team and I wish them only success. I will be supporting them like a true fan. Thanks to everyone for everything

Cole is still the best LB England have. Baines is not very good in defensive situations and lets.face it England will be defending alot.

What is the point of taking Shaw? Is Baines gets injured on the 1st game we have to rely on a rookie.

Oh amf Jack shouldn't be going to the world.cup. Been mediocre this season Imo.

Im glad if Wilshere is not part of that shambles.hope they leave out Ox aswell.

Wilshere has done absolutely nothing to deserve a place in the WC squad. And for the player, and his club, it's probably best that he has the summer off. Clear up that niggling injury for good.

Not really surprised that Cole isn't going. He's hardly had a game for Chelsea, although i do agree with most posters in that he is a stil a lot better than Shaw, who is vastly overrated.

Prefer that him, Theo and Gibbs arent going

England's loss is Arsenal's benefit

What do you really expect from England in the world cup with Our present manager? Has shown his limitations by not picking ,on his day,the best LB for England in the Prem. Will be pleased if no Arsenal player goes as absolutely nothing to gain by going to Brazil. Too hot and we are not good enough.

Likewise.
Theo won't be fit anyway.
Jack is omitted on merit and rest would do him more good than callup.
Not overly bothered if Gibbs goes or not.

I am a bit worried about Oxlade going. Simply because, like Wilshere, i do believe he has some underlaying injury problem that could have done with a good, long rest. He's had an on-off season, and the rigours of a South American World Cup won't do his injury any favours.
