They need to do something with the afcon though. No one watches it ATM due to European football being played and everyone views it as a hinderance.

Sporting events go to Eurosport to die. Make it every 4 years when there's no club football going on, you know, like everybody facking else, and maybe then it will earn some respect.

The fact is, most of these players play for European clubs. So it's hardly unreasonable for them to want their players available to play all season, is it? It's actually a pretty ridiculous situation, where you lose one of your employees for up to six weeks every other year. Not liking it hardly makes anyone some kind of white supremacist.....

It's the only time of the year where it can be hosted in the majority of countries in Africa due to the hot climate.

July is 'winter' at the equator.
What people miss is that Africa's climate isn't singular like Europe lol. Winter in Southern Africa is summer in Northern Africa. As you get closer to the equator the temperatures fluctuate less and less.
It's a valid point about the climate issues. So why not host it every four years, like the two biggest international tournaments do? Pretty sure it would be far more accepted by everyone then.
The majority of African nations FA are corrupt. They need this tournament every 2 years to keep the money flowing.
