Our scouts were at the Uruguay game this week to watch Atletico Madrid defender Giminez who's contract ends at the end of the season.

Cheaper alternative than VVD who is not near anywhere near the £70m valuation Saints have put on him.

Still think we'd get VVD

He's not worth £70m though. £45m tops. I have been watching him closely this season and although he would make a difference on Lovren he is not the best defender in the world in my opinion.

Keita has been bad this season as well.

Look at Sanchez as well.

VVD is a good centre back but a lot of centre backs that we sign are good when we sign them

I still think we need a more solid midfield to have an effective defence!

Five starts and a sub appearance apparently. I thought it was only recently I read about him coming back.

He's definitely a good centre back but I still worry about spending vast sums on a player and then leaving them as exposed as we do.

It is, he really went above and beyond and is a true legend not just for the club but football itself.
