I did yes, my cough was never bad, but there are varying levels of each symptom.
Mums coughing was bad, and so was my sister's, I only ever coughed while led in bed. The constant aches were the worst, especially with my various aches and pains.
Its honestly the only time I've ever seen my sister or mum bed bound by an illness. The first week I said I would have gone to work with it, week two was worst and the longer time goes on without my breathing recovering properly the more I'm sure it was covid.
That and mum works at a private school full of international but mostly (65%) Chinese kids cleaning their dorms. She was the first one ill.

I’ll bet it was pretty scary getting it whilst so much was still unknown, especially with the news as it was then with all the horror stories.
I’m pretty relaxed about it, I was traveling in and out of West Africa during the bad Ebola outbreak, so have at least some experience of the uncertainty these things bring. I’m in reasonable shape for my age with no known health issues and of course the NHS is better prepared than back them. Obviously, there’s always the chance you get a bad dose of it but it is what it is.....

Not worth paying for imo, as they still don’t really know if you can catch it more than once and are they actually proven to be accurate?

Going in the office today for the first time since early March
We have a McMillan cake day
Won’t too many folk about but we should raise a few quid and eat a few cakes
Going in via train too as we might be having a few beverages after.
Looking forward to seeing some of our fringe players tonight. Hopefully Jota too.

The Lloyds Pharmacyone is done in partnership with PHE for official monitoring of the virus. But £59 is a bit steep for something that should be free, or even worse may not actually be that useful because as you say detectable antibody levels may not be very long lasting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe there's only one reported incidence of somebody catching covid a second time and even that was mild?
Also, these things cost millions (probably more) to develop why should it be free? The 'do you have covid' test is free and rightly so.

I get private wanting to charge, after all they are a company providing a service, but £59 for that equipment and workload is ridiculous. They could still make a killing charging £20. They know they can do it because NHS free ones aren't available for mass use yet. Lloyds is one of the very cheapest I found too. Some charge over £100.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could they make a killing on £20? Any evidence to back that up out of curiosity?

We can’t sell cakes from home and didn’t want to cancel. We had 3 folk from HR run the event and limited it to one buyer at a time. Raised 230 quid so far and stopping shortly. Social distancing was observed.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/05/08/cheap-rapid-at-home-testing-for-covid-19-could-take-weeks-or-months.html
This is a plan for antigen tests, so slightly different, but they say they could be purchased for $10 in America. A blood test for antibodies requires work in a lab but cost of materials shouldn't be a lot higher. Once antibody tests are widely available for free there is no doubt private antibody test prices will fall sharply. They can charge so much now because of scarcity and high demand.

I believe there's only one reported incidence of somebody catching covid a second time and even that was mild?
Also, these things cost millions (probably more) to develop why should it be free? The 'do you have covid' test is free and rightly so.

Long live capitalism 🙄

Well somebody has to pay for it? I doubt you'd want the taxpayer to be paying for it, on top of everything else, when as you've said it isn't that effective and doesn't really tell us much?

Going in the office today for the first time since early March
We have a McMillan cake day
Won’t too many folk about but we should raise a few quid and eat a few cakes
Going in via train too as we might be having a few beverages after.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you're going into the office now, days after being told not to go in, but you didn't go in for the months you were told it was ok to go in?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One day for a charity event.

We can’t sell cakes from home and didn’t want to cancel. We had 3 folk from HR run the event and limited it to one buyer at a time. Raised 230 quid so far and stopping shortly. Social distancing was observed.

Insert did you ever get it confirmed with an antibody test, I remember you were considering getting one?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the NHS site that test isn’t actually available yet....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can get private ones but they're still pretty expensive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not worth paying for imo, as they still don’t really know if you can catch it more than once and are they actually proven to be accurate?

I get private wanting to charge, after all they are a company providing a service, but £59 for that equipment and workload is ridiculous. They could still make a killing charging £20. They know they can do it because NHS free ones aren't available for mass use yet. Lloyds is one of the very cheapest I found too. Some charge over £100.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could they make a killing on £20? Any evidence to back that up out of curiosity?

This is a plan for antigen tests, so slightly different, but they say they could be purchased for $10 in America. A blood test for antibodies requires work in a lab but cost of materials shouldn't be a lot higher. Once antibody tests are widely available for free there is no doubt private antibody test prices will fall sharply. They can charge so much now because of scarcity and high demand.

Happy to admit when proven wrong

What’s a McMillan cake day?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A day where people sell cakes and the proceeds go to Macmillan I'd guess.

Who’s McMillan?
