We shackled Penandes really well. Definitely disappointing not to win the game because I did think we would win if we managed to do that.

I'm going to absolutely continue with the rhetoric that he was crap and can't perform against top teams but yeah, we handled him brilliantly yesterday.
Pogba really is crap isn't he... Always have a bit of a fear factor when he gets on the ball because he's facking massive and can hit it but in reality he's an awful player.
Pogba was very good second half I thought. Outside of defence their best player.

Not sure I agree here.
Shaw was by far the MOTM though. Had Salah in his back pocket all game.
Pogba was decent to be fair but the ones I'll never be convinced by are McTominay and Fred.
Sure they have done a good job for United recently but you won't tell me they are anything more than average.
Put them up against a quality midfielder like Thiago they will always be chasing shadows.

Shaw did but it was noticable that Trent was asked not to overlap (as he is most games now) until the last 15 mins and even then he didn't hit the byline once.

In fairness I think Wijnaldum and Henderson would be chasing shadows against Thiago. He is truly world class.
Thiago's no-look passes and those ones where he sets himself up like he's going to pass it out wide and just plays through the centre of midfield.
2 things I'll probably never get tired of watching in football.
All we need is a no-look assist from Thiago and a no-look goal from Firmino
Just a goal from Firmino will do
Agreed. Thiago is a wonderful player. If only we could get the front three to sort their shiitt out we would be winning games pretty comfortably right now.

He was brilliant against Palace but has been awful either side of that game.
I don't get Firmino at the moment. Looked so unfit yesterday.
We actually moved the ball quick in the Palace game, since then it's like we've playing in 3ft of mud.
So many times yesterday we had opportunities to be 5v5 but slowed it right down.
Lack of confidence means they won't take the risks they usually would.
It's terrible place to be in. We really need Jota back.
I know this is a gamble as he's been pretty crap so far but I'd like to see Keita start with Thiago in midfield and Henderson holding.
He at least has some directness about his play.

I'd go with Origi personally, think he deserves his chance. Thought he actually did ok when he came on yesterday.
Minamino started against Villa's kids and was poor.
I'd maybe be temped to put Shaqiri in rather than Origi. Salah central, Shaqiri on the right and Mane on the left potentially. Shaq looks the best out of himself, Origi and Minamino imo, he carries more of a threat.

Think Klopp sees him as a midfielder tbh.
Our goal drought is the lack of bodies in the box. Firmino drops deeper and this results in not having a player in the danger areas. Jota is much better than the current front three with his movement and finishing.
I think Salah and Mane are asked to stay wide to pin the opposition fullbacks back to help us defensively.
Thiago should stay in a deeper position and we need Ox or Keita more forward to receive the ball in those areas close to the front three.
Tactics is about creating numerical advantages in different zones of the pitch with quick passing and movement.

Phillips n Matip for the aerial threat. Also allows us to get Fab back in DM and Hendo further up.
I dont wanna see Hendo playing DM sat on the CBs toes taking the ball off them to pass it 10 yards to the fullbacks.
i want hendo back in a more forward role using his energy to make space and get bodies forward. Also the trigger for the high press. I also want a cb pairing that offers back some of our set piece threat and fab back in mf mopping up, bringing some of that press back too.
