No real issue leaving VVD out as Gomez needs some game time at some point, but Origi shouldn’t be anywhere near the stadium never mind the pitch.

Strange how he’s gone from not even being on the 9 man bench at the weekend (not injured) to starting tonight.
Origi will make me proud tonight I just know it
Has Matip become our best centre back?
Obviously not. VVD is top 3 in the world at least. But Matip is proving he is a top class defender too as long as he can stay injury free.
Origi actually did ok tonight I thought. Better than his usual useless self (although I always think he does better when starting this as a sub which is the bit he's less likely to do for us!!)
Matip is quality, such a good passer of the ball splitting the lines. Quality defender but we always look so much more positive and creative when he plays too.
One thing we did miss today is the VVD outball pinging it wide.
Ain’t nobody in the backline that’s able to do that bar him.
Matip is having a great season so far. Utterly dominant in the air.
I recall gomez pinging it wide to salah a few times, all 3 matip gomez vvd usually pass the ball extremely well and forward into feet of attackers. Id say vvd has the better range then gomez but matip is better at carrying the ball and ground passes.
Gomez didnt have the beest of games looled very rusty. Keita was bang average too but again dropped for 18 yr old after promising pre season, hes a confidence and form player he needs games.
Surprised tsmikas didnt get a game but but origi did. Divock did alright by his own starting standards. Hope the injury isnt bad that he went off for.
Gomez didn’t have chit to do most of the game. Don’t think the first half gave him much chance to loosen the rust!
Keita wasn’t bad at all, thought he competed well.
Divock though - not mobile enough, just stands there instead of coming short and very rarely creates space for others with movement. Nice assist for Salah.
Keita for the 2nd Milan goal was still trying to get back and just made it to the halfway line. Same old problem with him.

Binned him off? lol. Is that what a regular sub is called these days? Maybe he was being saved as we have another game this weekend? You couldn't see it from that angle, could you? Klopp obviously likes Keita and started him in our first CL game of the season.
CM is where we rotate the most. We've got players to give minutes to there especially, and Keita rarely plays full games. Been like that since we signed him, for other reasons other than his quality as a player.
