I have been to Newcastle a few times and it isn't a bad city at all. The Saudis could invest in the surrounding areas a bit as those are not looking good. The weather was shte tho but the majority of Britain is like that

The thread has become increasingly funny as he will not let this go and everyone else can't read.

Nobody has really engaged with his idea though.

If it's as stupid as you say it is, it should be quite easy to respond to him seriously. The only actual detracting factor I've seen written is "carbon footprint".

Good luck to anyone who tries to wrangle a squad of PL players living around the London/Home Counties area to get on a plane to Newcastle on time every other week.

Can’t see how taking the players away from the city, given how fanatical Newcastle fans are, would go down well. Basically making the stadium somewhere they pop into every couple of weeks. Seems a bit soulless.

Plus don’t think Striketeam has ever been the North East. Beautiful part of the country and Newcastle is a class town as well.

Well that's not true is it. I listed at least four reasons and Darren two.

The guy is well known for being challenged and overall it is an utterly stupid idea which is why no football club, ever, anywhere, has done it before.

Why would a club base their training facilities elsewhere It doesn't make sense.
The players live near the city which make it much easier for travel, rest and recuperation.

Some things just don’t deserve serious engagement. The suggestion that you relocate a major party of a cities football structure to another city the other end of the country is utterly farcical.

Liverpool Football Club have paid tribute to their legendary goalkeepers after completing a new mural at the AXA Training Centre.

The artwork features a host of Anfield icons, including Ray Clemence, Jerzy Dudek and Bruce Grobbelaar, as well as current star Alisson… and back-up keeper Adrian.

FFS, a great example of how to devalue something. David ‘PlayStation’ James would have been more worthy than Adrian.

Klopp probably told it will pay for Salah new contract

Injuries wise:

Bobby probably out for a few weeks
Jones has a eye injury probably not serious
Gomez has a calf injury
Ox has some sort of complaint

Fab looked good
Thiago looked very rusty

Must be getting on for a million per win now no?

Not to mention the prestige, the co-efficient points, the Sponsership deals.

And the fact our players should want to.

First time we've ever won our first 4 CL group games. Find that hard to believe given how strong we were in Europe from 2006-2009ish but it's on the BBC so assume that it's true

So the secret to us winning anything this season is keeping Fabinho on the pitch !!!!!!

Yeah, he's pretty incredible tbh. Just gives that protection and balance we need in there, whoever he is playing alongside. Vital to keep him fit.

Good to see Thiago back, bit rusty as expected but important to keep him fit.

Also thought that Ox played well (after passing it out of play in the first minute anyway). When he has two of Thiago/Henderson/Fabinho alongside him he will be useful to us, but him and Jones should never be in the same midfield together, ever.

Gotta shoutout Matip too. Defending we know he is brilliant but those runs into midfield make him a stand out. He did get written off in some quarters who thought Konate should be the VVD partner but it's Matip. Always been Joel.

posted on 4/11/21

Definitely think we need to find another player in the Fabinho mould. Somebody younger that can step into his role when he's out. That's why I'd have been keen on keeping Grujic but he clearly didn't have the required skillset.

posted on 4/11/21

I have always defended Matip on here when some thought Lovren was better. Matip is much quicker, can read the game and his dribbling into midfield gives the advantage of maintaining the distances between the attack.
